I check for reactions to this song damn near on a weekly basis. Heard it more times than I’d want to admit. Haven’t shed a tear to it in long time but your reaction to it had me shedding a few. What you said about Haley and her isolation really hit me. I never thought about her perspective that deeply before. Had me thinking about my own daughters and shit. Listen to Hailies own words....she said he was the best dad ever and was shielding her very good. She said that on her podcast. She had and has a strong connection to him. So saying she had no connection to any of her parents by watching a music video is stupid. But its true she wanted him home and felt he was to much away. Thats why he didnt tour for Relapse and is only why he has had extremly small "tours" ever since. So a girl asking her dad to not go is a girl that HAS a connection to her dad.
