And i think that allowing differences in language to occur makes it harder to communicate and increases divides among the human races, especially among economic lines where poorer groups have a hard enough time at gaining an education and having upward mobility even without communication barriers.
@VesaKo2 жыл бұрын
@@battlesheep2552 Fair enough, my naivete shot in its sweet youth. But the only choice in such situations is to learn. No culture would voluntarily extinct its language for global unity, so the divide will exist with or without dialects. It might be lesser, but people who became refugees would feel it all the same. I think the issue isn't that language itself is holding people back, its education which isn't provided to them. And of course, to teach them, the teachers first have to learn how to talk to them.
@axelprino2 жыл бұрын
@@battlesheep2552 ok, ignoring for a moment the fact that what you said implies that people can't learn to communicate with those speaking a different dialect, which is complete BS. How would you even prevent a language from changing and diversifying over time? It's a naturally occurring process that can happen over the span of just a few years, sometimes a noticeable linguistic shift can happen in a few months. You can intentionally stabilize a language through prescriptive education but there's a limit to that too. In order to achieve what you're proposing you'd need to somehow stop culture from developing at all and somehow just stay still indefinitely because absolutely everything has an impact on language since it's literally the way people communicate.

3:03 As someone who goes to a school with free lunches: No, screw this one. Free school lunches are SO much less stress for families to have to worry about. Financial issues are already prevalent in a lot of families, and school lunches in the schools that charge for them tend to cost a lot. Making families that are barely hanging on while in a school zone that DOESN'T force you to pay for lunch start paying for lunch is cruel. In addition, this is kinda like my issue with everything costing money, and our issue with homelessness. The four main essentials for life are food, water, shelter, and sleep. The homeless are just that, homeless, so that's shelter gone. This also prevents them from getting proper baths and showers, thus making them less likely to get a job, because it doesn't matter where you go, if you want a job, you're expected to show up clean and dressed formally. To get money you need a job. To get a job, you need a house. To get a house, you need money. See the issue. Yet it continues. Due to that, the homeless are prevented from getting food and water easily, as the only options available are theft and begging. Way too many people, however, abuse the begging part, using it to make absurd amounts of money, when they're already living well, thus lessening the amount of people who will willingly give food or money to a homeless person. In addition, without a home, there's not really a safe or comfortable place to sleep, meaning sleep is ruined. Behold, all four of life's necessities gone. Many countries in the world say that human life is the most valuable resource, and it is, yet the rich are treated as infallible gods who can do no wrong, and when they do, it's "not their fault" or "it was an accident" even if they commit first-degree murder, while they're over here exploiting the lower class. While this guy's tweet is not on the scale of the rich screwing over the lower class and the homeless, it would still deprive many of the less fortunate amongst the lower class of one of the four essentials of life; food. It's either the students, the children, eat lunch, while the parents and children have one less meal a day, they eat dinner, while the children have one less meal a day, or, due to stuff being tied together, they stop being able to take as many showers, which will result in one of the parents, or both, being fired from their jobs, or they stop being able to drink as much water, resulting in a family full of medical issues due to dehydration, or they end up homeless, which will result in ALL OF THAT! You can really tell who was raised among the elites, or the middle-class, as they see things that they've had access to with no issue as things that can easily be changed without screwing anyone over, while the lower class often has to fight for these, and the homeless sometimes have to kill or steal for these.

12:19 Idk, personally phrases like that irk me a bit. Mainly because; 1.) You can't just act like people in general can't be manipulative bastards who'll do and say anything to get what they want. 2.) They kind of take away responsibility from the man in question. Yeah she's a single mom, but unless she inseminated herself, it definitely took two to tango. Not saying I know her exact situation, but I've seen plenty of instances where the girl meets up with the "nice guy" only to either get cheated on or worse, get pregnant by the same guy only for him to go MIA. Gendered issues like this are stupid in general, but leaving double-standards unchecked is the reason why these issues arise in the first place. Then there's the biases in court, paternity leave, and even something as universally basic as taking care of a child. Sigh, I just wish things will get better.

I know or know of a number of single mothers around my age from around the area I grew up. All of them had older sisters who were also single mothers, and all of them I either know for sure intentionally had a kid, or they repeated their choice, so they didn't think of it as a mistake to correct. Historically, being a single mother was much too stigmatized, but the pendulum has definitely swung too far the other way.

I would like to add an addendum to the pto one: Saying "sometimes you shouldn't take pto" is one side of the spectrum, but just taking off anytime and saying screw it to your boss is the other. Not bc you should care about your employer, but bc it hurts your coworkers. There is a middle guys. Now, my advice is for certain jobs, but depending on your job, it might not apply. But its good to keep in mind. 1) try and schedule off well in advance. Obviously, this isn't always possible. But try and schedule as far in advance as you can. This gives your employer enough time to plan for your absence. 2) At my job, we're assigned drawings to work sometimes weeks in advance. There's also a scheduler. Whenever I plan to go on vacation, I inform the scheduler and remind my bosses in the two weeks leading up to my vacation time. This gives the scheduler enough time to reassign the work for the week of my vacation and my supervisors can assist her. I also try not to leave any work done that will have to be picked up by my coworkers during my absence. Im not doing this for my employer or my bosses. Im doing this bc I respect my coworkers, who also have already full schedules.
