9:53 I'm a trucker. This happens because some of our trucks are speed limited. What ends up happening is one guy is limited to 62, and the other 65 (sometimes is also 68, but same deal). But, we have this thing called "passmart" or other branded terms. This lets us get a temporary boost to pass someone. Mine is at 68 for example, up from 65 on the cruise control, and 62 on the gas normally. So, to make this as simple as possible, if I'm going 65 on the cruise control, in order to pass someone, I have to start from a ways back, due to the company following distance rules (we WILL get in trouble for following other vehicles too closely, even other trucks). But, if you use the tools, you can usually get the pass done pretty quickly. But what ends up happening is a few different scenarios. For some reason, jackasses (usually guys who don't have limiters) will speed up as you try to pass them. I don't know why they do that. I've cursed out quite a few over the radio. The only option is to slow back down and get back behind them, unless of course, as soon as you put your signal on, someone fills that space (cars always fill the space, like nobody ever taught them not to ride next to a truck). So then you're stuck until there's space to safely get out of the way. The other thing that happens, is in the hills or mountains. Trucks are heavy when they're loaded, obviously. Robin, being from Colorado, will know that there are lanes for slow trucks going up hill. Well, that necessitates passing. So, you'll go to pass someone on an uphill, but then, the guy you pass, will suddenly come steaming back past on the downhill. Now, most companies have maximum speed rules, in addition to the limiters. So on a downhill, controlling your descent so as not to bust the limit is necessary. You WILL be fired for busting the upper limit. But, once again, some guys either don't care or don't have such rules (such as owner operators, who run their own business). So, they will force you into this ridiculous game of pass you on the downhill, just to get passed again on the uphill. Most of us do everything in our power to prevent these scenarios. If a guy is goin 62 instead of 65, we'll just go 62. Not a big deal. But, some guys (especially dudes in RV's that should definitely need more qualifications then they have to drive those things) want to go 55 or 50 or whatever, and simultaneously don't want to be behind you. So, they'll go the speed they want, but then do everything in their power to not let you pass. I had a guy next to me slam into a line of barrels because he was way too busy looking at me instead of the road trying not to let me pass... ON AN EMPTY HIGHWAY. It's definitely not always the passing vehicle's fault, and that's especially true if we're passing something other than a truck, because, and no offense to anyone who thinks they're an excellent driver, but you four wheeler guys, and especially U-hauls and RV's, have no idea how to maintain a consistent speed, and have no idea how much you're getting in the way. When you're going to go up a hill, you want to start as fast as possible. We get bonuses (or at least I do) for fuel economy, and it really stings not getting yours because you got stuck behind a bunch of U-hauls in Pennsylvania or West Virginia or something. If I start up a short grade at 45, I'm going to doing 25 by the top, burning a ton of fuel pedal to the floor. If I start up that same grade at 68, I'll be doing 55 by the top, and most likely be able to E-coast down the other side. Another, another, another thing, is that I know it can seem like it's not a big deal for us to be patient, and frankly, we SHOULD be. But understand that most of our lives aren't like yours. Those of us who are good at our jobs, are patient to a ridiculous degree. But, we only make money, when that odometer moves. The difference in a 10 hour day between 55 and 65 mph is 550 miles vs 650 miles. Those extra miles could be the difference between me getting the next load to feed my family, or me parking at a truckstop in godknowswhere, Nebraska for three days while my company finds a load they're happy with their profit margins on. And this isn't to excuse any unsafe driving behavior. If you know me as a trucker, my CB handle is "slowpoke". They call me that for a reason, and my current truck's nickname is Miss Daisy. I'm also the first person to tell someone to be safe. I got chains on my truck I have never used, because the safe thing to do is park it until conditions improve. I will intentionally slow down to let other trucks pass as well, even I will just end up passing them again. But, I want people to understand why we're doing these things. The trucking industry is in a bit of a crisis. The, let's say conservative demographic of yesteryear basically ran the industry into the ground and refused to allow unions in, and as a result, are now basically torturing anyone who started after 2012-2013. As a result, we live hard lives (by choice btw, I'm not saying it's not by choice lol), and don't make much for our labor. So whenever you see drivers being ridiculous, don't excuse the behavior, but understand that the person is probably not mentally doing all that great, as that's a serious issue in the industry right now, and probably doesn't have their head on straight, or at the very least has stopped caring who he inconveniences to get the job done. Not a great situation, but it's the reality of trucking these days. Once again, that doesn't mean I condone the behavior. I don't drive like that, and most of us don't. TLDR, trucking is full of BS, and the passing thing is a symptom of companies making rules that aren't very well thought out.

@xX_Gravity_Xx15 күн бұрын
@@georgejones3526 No, that sucks. But a lot of the time they're over there because the middle lane is clogged up. Usually in places with alot of and off ramps. I'll use the middle lane in places like that because I can't trust people not to merge an inch of my front bumper at 30mph in a 70. That just leaves the other lane for a guy to pass. Also, it can be harder to get over in one of these things than people realize. Again, if the sign says don't be over there, then they shouldn't be. But this is usually why. Another thing is when the sign says trucks use left lane only, and everyone, including other truckers, get mad at you for following the sign. It's there for a reason. It's because the right lane is literally unsafe for trucks. We could get pulled into a barrier or off the road, and I HATE IT when other trucks pass me on the right in those zones. Super dangerous.

I dont understand how 46 would ever, EVER be able to go up to 3650, even if you were really late. ROBIN... i am a truck driver, what you are witnessing when trucks pass each other has a three part explanation. 1 if the truck flies past you at 70 mph or greater that truck usually will be an o/o (owner operator) he can go as fast as he feels like driving that day, he can also play on his phone (no cameras watching him or the road ahead of him) unless he has his own dash cam. because he is running his own business. 2. all other corporation trucks have two things a top speed governor for companies like Swift, Knight, or C.R England and many of the small companies that have less than 20 trucks on the road those trucks can only go 62-63 mph by the gas pedal and 65 when on cruise control.(some companies even lie to drivers and tell them the trucks are governed at 68 or 69 mph but actually are set at 66.9 or 67.2 mph the truck will only display current speed in whole numbers and anything over a whole number will display higher than actual speed) they also have a very detailed GPS that knows the speed limit where the truck is currently driving and a camera on the windshield mounted where a normal cars rear view would be located. Its not just a dashcam for recording the drive but that camera recognizes speed limit signs and will know if the driver is speeding, it will also usually send an email to the company if the driver doesn't keep the truck within 5-10 mph of the posted speed. or stays 5 mph over for a per company determined amount of time. 3. however not all companies are governed at 65, most companies are governed at 65-70 mph. if you look at the front of a freightliner Cascadia above the license plate is a little black rectangle. that device is a forward looking radar. it will let the driver know by digital display on the dash total distance in feet, current following distance timing gap and it will also let the driver know the current speed of the vehicle in front of the truck in mph. some companies mandate that the driver keep a 3.5 seconds minimum following distance, if you close the gap under that following distance mandate the truck will first give a loud tone and a display warning on the dash for improper following distance. if the gap continues to close and the truck thinks a collision is imminent the truck will apply the brakes on its own. if improper following distance is given too many times... you guessed it email sent to the companies safety team. now that I've explained those basic things about the trucks I'll lay out a three truck rolling road block example for why it happens... truck number one in the far right lane is a swift truck and only driving 63 mph.(cruise control not on but at its top speed) truck two catches up and before he closes the minimum following distance to 3 seconds or less he moves over to pass the swift truck in the middle lane... however swift wakes up realizing he is going to get passed and turns cruise control back on and speeds up to 65 mph. truck two still in the attempt to pass is unfortunately governed at 67 mph.(might actually be 66.7 mph) now add in some hills and they are going to sea-saw for about 15 miles..... truck three is an o/o or governed at 70 mph. he decides he's not going to wait his turn to pass the swift truck and other slightly faster truck utilizing the middle lane, he can pass both truck one and two if he takes the third lane. but again depending on the weight of the trucks and terrain this can become a longer process than any of them intended. to break the "turtle race" swift should turn his cruise off and definitely not use his smart pass to try and keep the lead but some idiots like making it look like the passing truck is the problem and do use the smart pass(smart pass is a mode available on swift trucks and will allow the driver to speed up to 68 but the smart pass has a timer and can only be used for 30 minutes a day, swift put the smart pass in the trucks so that if two swifts are unable to keep proper following distance the lighter and therefore faster truck should use his smart pass to take the lead).. but i digress, after swift slows down to 63, the 67 truck can pass and move out of the way and the truck in the far left will see this and also move all the way back over as soon as it is safe to do so and the cars stop shooting the middle gap. I know this is getting long but when driving for 11 hours 2-5 mph difference does actually matter. also it gets real frustrating to try and stay behind a truck you know is slower than your top speed when you have to keep a proper following distance. a fix to the situation if all three trucks are paying attention and try to recognize when a fellow truck driver is trying to pass he has already evaluated the situation from behind you. and either stay slow 62-63 until the passing truck has moved back over say at 68. then turn you cruise back on to 65. in my particular situation i can drive 65 on the pedal and 68 on cruise control, but i do have to watch the downhill momentum and keep my speed under 72 unless the highway is posted at 75 or higher. if I'm cruising along and see an o/o or other company that i know is set to 70, i will turn my cruise off and let my truck settle back down to 65 so there is a 5 mph difference and the faster truck can pass me quickly(really important to do so on a two lane highways like I-30 and I-40 in Arkansas) after the truck passes me i can turn my cruise back on and i will never catch the truck that passed me.

Greetings everyone, Robin this answer is directly for you and anyone else who doesn’t know. As a semi truck driver myself. A lot of trucks are governed. Not all mind you but those that are company. Granted a lot of times you can’t tell who is an isn’t. But many are and their govern speed is anywhere between 66 and 70 mph. And we can’t remove it majority of the time. Now the only reason I can think of why that type of incident happens because I have to do it myself since my governed speed is 68 mph. Is because I’m trying to pass a truck that’s go speed is 66 and if I have to slow down to sit behind them for x number of miles. Not only am I going to be late or run out of drive time because we also have specific clocks we have to abide by, by DOT regulation. But also we have to keep distance between us and the truck in front of us. Which means we have to slow down further. And having our truck scream at us because we’re too close tends to get a little bit annoying and piss us off. I can understand your lack context so this is me giving it. Especially when other drivers tend to forget we also can’t stop on a dime, especially when we’re loaded heavy. So I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but just stating how I see it from the other side. If you want to know more information about what we have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Feel free to reach out to me. And I will gladly, gladly fill you in on everything at least from what I see.

Big mistake, we end up waiting 7 hours in the waiting room, during the wait they take me to get some X-rays, and after the 7 hours , they took us to another room full of people getting care, we didn’t see anyone for at least an hour. When someone does finally come to talk to us, they say there’s nothing wrong with the toe from the x-rays, even though they were actively looking at my toe that it was not in the greatest shape. I was sent away with just a strong pain reliever, they said they couldn’t do anything to help it. Next few week I get 2 pieces of mail. The first being a 100$ which I assumed was the doctors appointment, then the next was was over 1000$. though it was reduced to 500 for some reason but it’s insane how they charged me yet did nothing to help.

Pharmacy tech here who used to be a head tech in retail. I cant say woth certainty but i can try to explain what happened with that pharmacy. Not excusing their actions by any means first off, you need to do what you can for the most amount of patients possible, and most people can walk into a store vs. Use a drivethru. Especially in more run down areas. BUT i think they were short manned. Either the walgreens inside was closed and didnt open the doors (which im least inclined to believe cause if the store closes the pharmacy closes.) or the pharmacy was short staffed and could only keep one of the lines open. And corporate forces you to leave the deive thru open if you have one. Again, they really shouldve just had it be to walk inside to get your meds, but corporate WILL force you to reopen drive thrus regardless of manning issues. I had a corporate manager yell at me before because of it and no matter how much i argued they said, essentially, if one line is only able to be open, then it MUST be drive thru because (insert bad corporation reasoning i couldnt bother to have in my memory storage). They do not care if you only have one technician and a pharmacist on the verge of tears from the stress. Hope the person was able to get their meds

Also, if you use a VPN and change your location to Argentina or something, you can cancel your gym membership with Planet Fitness online. Also also, regarding the disabled parking space, I'm sure you can call someone about that and they'll force the hotel to fix it. They legally have to be handicap accessible at all times.

5:50 Depends on the definition of destroy in the context of the policy. Destroy has specific definitions within different policies. For example, an animal dying by natural causes can be disposed of (destroyed) in only specific circumstances. Otherwise, you need to determine if there is an infection, etc. I'm guessing the answer is 'True' since a postmortem on a fish is somewhat hard. However, it could be involving 'destroying' the fish in a protected area, which would then need _not_ to be destroyed and instead sent to a lab.
