I really appreciate that Robin talks about these obviously abusive behaviours with the seriousness they need, allot of the time especially with this sub they're played off as funny and it's super uncomfortable.

Exactly. I don’t think it’s talked about enough. We’re making so much progress trying to get men to be respectful and understand that “no” means “NO”, and it’s girls like these who are blatantly reversing our efforts because they want to be sought after; because they want attention so badly. It’s really frustrating!!

@@red_phoenix0570Ain’t that the truth. I once witnessed a girl trying to pressure a guy into going out with her, things like “what, don’t you think I’m pretty?” and “I can be whatever you want, as long as I’m your girlfriend” and I just sat uncomfortably and gave the guy a sympathetic look. I didn’t know how to intervene (I’m not particularly confrontational) but man I felt horrible for him. Girls can be some of the meanest, most selfish, most _vile_ creatures on earth- and this is coming from a trans guy who experienced the _worst_ of mean girls.

I discovered my drug addicted abusive sister has a facebook profile. She's constantly putting up inspirational and emotional posts. Talking about how great she is and how people treat her badly. She abused me my entire life. She cheats on every man she gets. And most, if not all, of her kids have been removed from her. Years of drugs and addiction have made her unrecognizable. Did you know that women thought up the idea of Mother's Day, and pushed for its creation on a national level to celebrate themselves? Then as an afterthought, they later created Father's Day to not seem so obviously self-serving. Men are vilified for giving a woman the gift of a tool, like a new appliance for Mother's Day. But, tools are advertised as gifts for Father's Day as THE appropriate gift. If a woman wants to find a thoughtful Father's Day gift she is out of luck. Women rarely buy nice, thoughtful, caring, gifts for the men in their lives, so stores don't demand them, don't stock them and can't even find them to buy to offer them for sale. Men can find endless options for thoughtful gifts for Mother's Day, but they are usually SOL for Father's Day!

Yeap that is true. My cousin's wife is just like that. She is very overbearing and freaks the f out when stuff does not go her way. After a lot of piled on stuff, it finally blew up. My cousin picked his daughter up from school and took her along with him to have a quick chat with a coworker at a coffee bar (it serves alcohol too, it is relevant). The cousin's wife tracks them down through this 360 ap that she forces everyone in her house to get. She storms into the coffee bar and prepares to rip into my cousin in front of everyone and the coworker. My cousin has had enough at this point and when she gets all up in his face, he shook her to stop and when she proceeded to scratch his face, he pushed her really hard and she crashed into the wall. They proceeded to have a full on hair pulling, slapping, spitting, and all the works in the bar, but before the cops were called they stopped. She then proceeds to report to the Women and Children safety line, claiming my cousin was abusive and he hit her. She threatened to sue and claim custody of the daughter and she knows she will win because our country always gives the mother the priority, no matter how much of a shit they are. A lot of apologies had to be made from my cousin's side and his family so that lawsuit does not actually happen. The thing is, this is not the first time the "wife" threatened to call CPS because her husband "screamed" or "pushed" back. She has always been a martyr and act like a victim. She is a master gaslighter and always holds the marriage hostage. She at one point threatened suicide and vowed to name him and his family at fault in the letter that she will leave behind.

Any guy is handsome as long as he got best friend energy, loves talking for hours and loves playing video games. If I had give dating advice? Just learn how to make friends with girls and focus on the emotional connection first. Then think about the girl whose personality you adore and that you love being around for hours on end. Love is real and it runs so deep that it often doesn’t care about looks. What people prioritize often aren’t the ingredients for a long term relationship. After all, in a long term relationship It won’t last if the only things you ever valued about your partner were sex and looks. Just food for thought. Also remember you don’t have to be in a relationship to be happy (relationships are a lot of work and responsibility) It is often best to learn how to be happy on your own before deciding if you want a companion. Independence means we have control over our happiness and we’re less scared if people come and go in our lives. Independence teaches us that our self worth isn’t defined by a relationship and it actually helps us love on a deeper level. We’re actually able to love people better because now we’re more concerned about loving the person in the moment and less scared of things ending.

I worry sometimes about my boyfriend because he self-isolates sometimes and is prone to switching back and forth between overworking himself and shutdowns, and I desperately try to encourage him to get out there, and take care of himself, and don’t put up with bullshit. Like, we all know us and our girlfriend are playing around with the control idea, I like to refuse things just for fun sometimes and it’s clear to everyone when I actually put my foot down as “this is a bad idea, so we’re not doing it. If you’re wondering why, I’ll tell you why” but goodness if people don’t think someone actually encouraging others to try new things instead of just never visibly taking issue with any and everything is somehow toxic anymore.

Regarding the "guys can't be abused by their girlfriends" thing, one of my favorite responses (and the typical replies to the asked questions) is "Okay, so in a gay relationship, can one of the guys be abusing his boyfriend, or is it only because there's a girl involved that guys become abusive?" "Yes, guys are abusive" "Okay. Can a girl abuse her lesbian girlfriend, or are those girls lying about being abused by their partners?" "Girls don't lie about that, don't be toxic" _"So you admit that guys can be abused, and girls can be abusive. What's stopping a guy who could be abused from getting together with a girl who can be abusive?"_ I've yet to hear a satisfactory answer to the final question. Most of the time I hear ad hominem attacks, strawman arguments, or silence. The closest I've heard to a reasonable argument is "guys are less fragile so they can handle what girls do to them" but like... fam, that's not for the abuser to decide, if some guy were to be like "nah she's strong, she can handle being punched a few times every day" y'all'd be rightfully up in arms about that. Nobody can speak for what is and isn't a problem for others, and you're no exception. Edit: and if they say "no, guys can't be abusive to their boyfriends" or "girls can't be abusive to their girlfriends" I say "then does that not mean that gay/lesbian relationships are inherently safer and more stable than straight relationships?" because a lot of these people are also homophobic to some degree

11:09 I’m a girl who loves video games, but doing this to a game because you’re being an insecure, jealous loser is honestly something that would make me grab all their stuff in my house and dump it in front of their house then tell them that we’re breaking up because video games are expensive and I don’t play them often because I don’t have the time for them as much anymore and when I do play them it’s because I want to blow off steam and try not to be as toxic as their insecure self.

My own experience with an insane girl: So this girl came into my school, new student, near the middle to end of the year. Shorter than me, dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, really pretty. I was heavily bullied, and so when she began to give me attention, i was super excited. I felt like i had fallen in love the same day i had met her. Looking back, i really should have known about being touch starved. Two days after meeting, shes flirty and touching me, confesses love middle of class. Super excited, say i love her too. We get into a relationship that day. I know the red flags are EXTREMELY obvious here. Lovebombing, attention craving, there is obviously red flags. We have a good long run, christmas break comes up and we have to cut contact with eachother because she lives in a shared home. Christmas break is over, im starting to rethink our relationship, and realizing im not really attracted to her, more just that i liked her attention. Eventually, she starts touching me inappropriately in class without my conset, i have been raped before, and so i didnt want that to happen again. I tell her to stop, she stops for a day and returns to it right back again. I break up with her over it. Next day, she comes in heavily depressed. It looks like she has put on makeup to look more depressed for attention. She begins to stalk me. A few days after breaking up, my friend shows me to his other friendgroup, hoping to hit it off and help me get more friends. One kid shares an interestm and we are both autistic. We hit it off pretty easily. At lunch, i turn over to look at my Ex and shes glaring at my new friend. I think nothing of it, i get sick for a few days. When i come back, i get told she tried to strangle him. Straight up. Hands on neckm friend turning blue and all. She tried to kill my new friend because she thought i left her for him. I report her for stalking and attempted murder to the school, they take some reports, look at some cameras, and then shes gone for good. Middleschool is crazy man.

@AliothAncalagon and even skin imperfections that are "universally" seen as unattractive always have exceptions. I had no idea some ppl were ashamed/self conscious and even bullied for their freckles, and on the flip side that anyone would think freckles are ugly and worth bullying over, because I adore them they are one of the cutest skin "imperfection" I can think of, and that skin condition where u lose skin pigmint like vetiligo I think, smth like that, that shits pretty to me. Albinism and the opposite one, that's pretty too. It's also interesting to me, I've always hated my unibrow and think they're ugly but in some cultures it's also seen as a beauty symbol, and ive heard in japanese culture, cooked teeth are seen as cute, in a childlike endearing way but cute none the less. That whole in victorian eras the perfect body was plump and whole, and the. At some point heroin chic was a thing and now it's slim thick etc. Ppl forget at the end of the day beauty is genuinely 100 percent subjective, things might be *more Commonly* categorized as attractive or unattractive, like certain icecream flavors are more popular than others. People are pretty and / or hot at all hights, so why do people have to make it so important. At least being 5'1 makes it easier to find someone taller than me since that's a preference because hugs from tall people are great, but I also want to date people shorter than me because they are also nice to hug/cuddle so yea makes that harder And now I'm questioning if I'm ace because of the hug thing again fuck me it's 10pm I don't need this before bed dammit

Its the honesty fallacy. Some people (especially modern women) who preach "confidence" as an end-all solution to relationship problems, think that just because they feel less guilty of something, everybody else is going to see them as less guilty.

That thing where you say you don't want anything but you do is actually pretty normal. I do it all the time. What isn't normal is complaining about it afterwards or thinking that it means literally anything. I usually do it because I know that I don't really need the thing I'm being asked about.

9:54 Fun fact I learned recently: in Japan there's a tradition called White Day that's kind of a counterpart to Valentine's Day but a month later. The idea is that on Valentine's Day girls would give gifts to boys, but then a month later on White Day boys reciprocate with gifts to girls. Apparently getting less common these days, but yeah.

A year or 2 ago i had this one tinder match. For refernce i am a black male, this is useful information for later. We talked a bit and asked what she was looking for. She said she was "looking for a simp." To entertain myself for a bit longer i asked what i would get in return hypothetically. She said "you get to talk to me." I had my laugh for the day and wished her luck on her ventures. She proceeded to lead with "but, BLM!" I ask how that's relevant. She then starts saying that because she isnt racist and supports blm that i should simp for her 😭😭😭

Is there a more direct way of solving this problem?" I think the girls featured in this subreddit could benefit from giving up passive-aggressiveness as well. Hell, I think everybody could!

1:20 my high school had posters like this all over the pupil services office, things about who to talk to if you're afraid to come out, if you don't feel safe at home, hell, even ways for teens to spot manipulation and abuse in their own romantic relationships. The one that caught my eye the most was about teen pregnancy, not shaming, not belittling, offering help to pregnant teens, and they listed the staff members to talk to

6:10 this is why where the side walk ends and a lot of those books were so important. in one of those books there was a story about a woman who met the beauty standard of thin, wearing fancy dresses and fancy hair dos and a woman who would not meet beauty standards. As the story progressed the "Beautiful" woman got uglier and uglier as she yelled and complained at people doing kind things for her and her face became a scowl as she lost her youth and the "ugly" woman became more and more beautiful not by combing her hair even more or changing her clothes or trying to match the beauty standards but because she treated those around her with kindness and generocity and was always smiling. Physical appearance is not where true beauty lives.

Its stuff like this subreddit that make me very happy i wound up aro/ace. I do have a story abt a toxic ex (of one of my friends abd this is still going on) the ex lives in another continent so it was long distance obv. I occasionally hear stories of what happens so i'll try my best to list from memory. Blackmail (ex threatened to tell my friends parents abt something if my friend reported her), wishing death upon all of my friends friends including the ones she doesnt know exist (like myself luckily) and those stupid "i'll hurt myself" messages to say the least

I was in a fairly long relationship until about early last year, when my former partner decided to break up with me and started dating another dude I knew shortly after. That still holds a mental toll on me to this day. Although some of the posts in this video reminded me of certain scenarios that happened during said relationship and helped me realize how abusive my partner was most of the time. I cut all contact because I could not take it anymore and I have not heard *directly* from them since. I was told how they were telling people that I abused them, which really bothers me because I never had any ill intentions, espacially not to harm them in any mental or physical way. Still, I have done things I am absolutely not proud of and regret deeply. I have been seeking professional help for a while now. Things got a little better over time, but I'm still a long way from feeling "good" again, I think.

8:51 if a woman asks you about your height and you do not like it, don't throw back weight or bust size, ask em about their height. hit em directly with the thing you do not like instead of going for a different insecurity, she says she's below 6ft? rip, unmatched. Same for many other things, unless unapplicable
11 ай бұрын
But you see, _height_ is not an insecurity for most women, the same as _weight_ is not an insecurity for most men. The idea is that the *emotional* response is to be the same.

I am a grown man. I love my cat dearly. He is like my baby and I have PTSD epidoes that he comforts me through and he has such a lovely personality. My partner loves my cat just as much as I do and my cat is always excited to see him. He looks for my partner every time I come home and yells for him if he hears his voice. If your partner doesn't respect how much you love your pet and even try to show them similar love, you probably need a new partner.
