When I watched it I knew it was a song written about her mom who has MS. She saw her mother struggle through the pain and still smile. So yeah... I'd cry too.

Actually Floor wrote this song for her Mom suffering from rhumatism about 10 years ago, and Emma immediatly related it to her own story, as her own Mom suffered from a cancer... And as it's already said below, Floor always breaks into tears when she tries to sing it live

There is no real cure for Rhumatism with good medication you can ease the pain and live pretty normal live but that's it. I know this from my own mother.

Like always you make it so personal, talking about your own feelings. This song is written by Floor special for her mother who suffers from rheumatism. The song is about the way her mother always tried not to show how much pain she was in, but everyone knew it. Here you have the Floor version. I feel like that all the time heh. The winners of the reality shows never look or sound like I do, and there just wasn't an artist of my age that I felt like I could relate to musically or personally, so it took my late husband running into Nightwish back in 2012 to find what undertone I am vocally, and it took seeing Floor to help finish my first single. I'm sure I'm not even a drop in the bucket compared to her talents, but I would love to sing with her, even if it's just kickin' it in a stairwell somewhere. Honestly any of these singers, I feel like I could chill with :)

Dear CC, I saw many reactions to Floor's song performed by the lovely Emma, but this is, to me, by far the best analysis given. Everytime it makes me cry to see Floor, our queen, touched in the core of her heart. For Floor , Emma and all of is us we can somehow relate it to our beloved mothers. This song gets me. My Mother suffered with cancer and it's complications that took her life. My Uncle did the same with leukemia after fighting it for years. And finally I have suffered with degenerative joint disease until it finally put me in a wheelchair. I can never listen to the song without crying. Not for myself but because I know exactly what they went through for years.

You might want to check out all performances on Floor's evening because everyone gave us the best they had in them. You'll get Tim Akkerman doing the Nightwish song "Nemo", Ruben Annink singing Sting's song "They dance alone", Emma singing "Strong (what you just reacted to), Rolf Sanchez singing a great version of "Hotel California", Samantha Steenwijk sings a Dutch song called "Ik ben altijd dicht bij jou" and Henk Poort gives us an amazing version of "The sound of silence" (Disturbed variation) My top recommendations from that evening would be Tim, Emma, Rolf and Henk as having done songs most worthy of checking. (Not saying that Ruben or Samantha are not good, they are great too) And a suggestion from a few seasons ago, you might enjoy, Alicia Keys and JayZ's "Empire State of mind" by Glennis Grace and Lange Frans. If you really want to see Floor have a good cry, watch the “Floor Jansen - (English&Finnish Subtitles) Interview and Reportage From Tampere” kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGSxepmrZdapqsk it’s a reunion show with her classmates from Rockacademie (the entire thing is worth a watch, but about the 13 minute mark is where she is crying). She has such a beautiful soul, and, like in this song about her mother, the part where Floor cries is because of her parents: she is watching her parents react to her and her show at Tampere.

Thank you for your reaction. I would only make one small criticism. I always have a good old cry to this song as it reminds me of my own mother. I felt i never got the chance to cry this time round as you paused it so many times. Your comments are so insightful for a young lady and i do enjoy your take on the song. Perhaps just a little less breaking up of the performance to allow the listener to get into the song. By all means give your reaction during the song and at the end. Just not so many breaks. You chopped the end as well when Floor finally went. Thanks again for a great reaction though.

this was not the most emotional song this season. in another episode HENK POORT sung NOELIA for ROLF SANCHEZ. the grandmother of rolf used to sing it. after she died he has not heard it anymore coz it was too hard for him to handle. this was the only song where no one kept dry.
