She handled the question about Leylah not being surprised very well, Emma’s wise beyond her years - she was honest that she didn’t expect it but still confident and not overly self-deprecating. As a Brit, I didn’t pay too much attention to her at Wimbledon, we’re so desperate for top players that anyone who’s British is touted as a “future star” when they’re usually fairly mediocre but I’ve been very impressed with her at the Open. She’s already backed up her Wimbledon performance up and now bettered it immediately. She’s got a very strong game, great attitude and fantastic mentality, she’s going to go far 🙌🏻

Mental strength can be a key weapon for Emma during her career if she maintains the learning curves she's on. Knowing when to do the "come ons", not overly wasting emotions on court and just really dialled in. Was pleasing to see Emma not get too down on herself during the adversities in the early stages of the match, then run to 11 games in a row fully taking advantage of the errors that crept quickly into Shelby's game.

She's incredibly composed and relaxed here, very impressive. And despite being born in Canada to a Chinese mother and a Romanian father, we British already love her and she sounds and acts so British. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes to university later in life, achieving an A* in mathematics at A Level is no mean feat, and maybe having an analytical mind helps with her tennis? Who knows, who really cares? She looks great, she acts professionally on and off the court, and she has a dazzling smile that immediately makes people warm to her. I think that's why the American crowd didn't mind that much when she beat their girl. Tennis purists may argue that Shelby lost rather than Emma won, but for me Emma has reached the top flight at the right age. At 18 she's strong both physically and maybe more importantly strong mentally. Tennis is not her whole life, but for now it is her primary focus, and she can play without fear. Unencumbered by expectations or past defeats. She's a joy to watch playing, and a pleasure to listen to talking. Respect to Rogers, looking forward to the next time these ladies play against each other.

I hope , you can learn from Osaka how being at the top at such a young age has affected her mentally , as if she has to win Everytime and if she doesn't , that has put with a lot of pressure , to the extent now she could handle it , withdrawal symptoms has hit her in a negative way . I hope Osaka will be back soon , pity her . My advise don't let the media or any other stuff put your pressure on you . One day you will loose to any player , that will part of the process to winning trophies .. champion is not about winning title , but it is about when you loose , and trying to get up again .
