Well you shouldn't categorize all Hong Kong reporters as "pathetic." I mean Apple Daily IS a tabloid newspaper, not broadsheet, so of course they try to make everything dramatic. I'm sure some newspaper in China would do the same thing, if the Chinese government doesnt censure it.

evefiamma it might've sounded that way because she was frustrated with being asked about it. but I do agree that she was probably upset on the inside, who wouldn't be? that's an embarassing thing to be put through. she was trying to be classy by answering in that manner, but having to hold that attitude while being asked repeatedly about it was probably getting to her. anyway, it'll all be old news soon. she took home an award, everything is peachy :)

And on the heels of last year with absolutey no winners of color being nominated?? not one. hmmmm. also side note. I just read the director was literally asked by a producer and I quote "Where's the white people?" You just might have white entitlements if you ever say some silly like that. Guess someone was unawares of segregated parts of America still exist.

Don't get me wrong, I love her as much as the next guy and enjoyed her performance fine, but this role doesn't really seem like it should have been the frontrunner in the first place. We've seen this character and story a million times before, I would have liked to see someone like Isabelle or Natalie win for roles that had so much more weight and gravitas behind them. They handled the emotions and objectives of those characters absolutely BEAUTIFULLY, and you can see the clear work behind them. Emma's role was pretty two dimensional, there wasn't much she really had to do. I didn't feel that her style of singing matched the style of the film, and there are much better musical theater performers for that sort of role. I would love to see her win for something like Birdman, the work that went into THAT film was worthy of an award, this, this was just fluff.

@Kaybye5558 жыл бұрын
adriliddogirl1045 This is about acting, not being nice. Being real she is not good at acting, this was just a cliché movie that people who couldn't understand better movies liked. That's why there is hate. Aside from being nice or not, he acting is bad. that's what this is about.
@adriliddogirl10458 жыл бұрын
Catalina RG yes I understand that, but there are people who are specifically bashing on her as a person. That's the problem now and days with people hating on actor's and actresses on how they are. People can have different opinions on how they act in movies and I have to say she isn't the best actress nor la la land was the best movie because it was not (in my opinion) but it all lands to respect and respect is key

There are only two people who hold the cards - Martha Ruiz and Brian Cullinan of Price Waterhouse. The cards are held in briefcases on either side of the stage, so that depending on which side of the stage that the presenter enters, the card is given to them by either of those two. The duplicate card held by the other person is then supposed to by moved to the back of the pile, so the next award to be presented is always at the top in each of the cases.

A story about a child that grew up without a loving mother and father and no one to love him. Bullied all his life. His entire childhood. And now your conducting yourself in the same manner. Please learn to forgive. that hate will never do anything but hold you and others back. That really hate isn't a reflection of them but of yourself. Please do yourself a favor. Love yourself. although, "MOONLIGHT" appears to be just a story about a black gay man coming to terms with his sexuality, its recognition is more about the extraordinary methods with which the story was told. its a tour de force in film making. that's why it deserved the award. many may not be wise enough to understand the complexities of how this story was told, and that's aright too. it is wonder and illuminating to know the academy choice this state of the art production on its merits.

yrqueenalia they're really hyping up Beauty and the Beast. Hope it lives up to expectations. I think she is an okay Belle. Maybe they could have picked a better option, but she suits the role enough. Glad they picked Dan Stevens for Beast though

Just for everyones info, there are two full sets of cards that have the winners on them, one on stage left and one on stage right so if the presenter comes out either side they receive the card. Warren Beaty did recieve the wrong card whether Emma Stone had hers or not.

People are in the comments hating on the movie or saying she didn't actually like moonlight? What she said about moonlight seemed very genuine to me, and I don't understand why people have to cause so many issues by trying to say she doesn't like it. If she likes if that's great for her, if she doesn't of course she can't say that. People are so picky. What do you want from her? Also I did love La La Land and I don't understand people's justification for not liking it. I mean I'm open to hear other opinions, but what I've heard is that they think the dancing, acting, or singing is bad, when the singing is the charm of the film AND the 2 songs were nominated and won an Oscar AND the acting was not bad. People are finding any reason to hate on the movie or anyone affiliated with La La Land when I just find that ridiculous. It wasn't La La Land's fault the mix-up happened.

She's so self-righteous when she says "I don't know what happened and I wanted to talk to you guys first," like she's the teacher's pet dobbing on someone for making up a story. If you don't know what happened, shut your mouth. As it happens, missy, all the envelopes have duplicates. If you'd talked to a producer first, not the press, you'd know that.

There are two cards printed for every win. Someone accidentally placed the double where best picture card should've been. That's what happened. You can see on the envelope it says best actress in a leading role. It was a mix up and not just a story Warren was saying. Warren was at no fault whatsoever, he didn't even want to announce it, Faye did it.

the reason they called out LaLaLand for best picture was because they accidentally gave them the wrong card. The card that was given was the 2nd backup card for Best Actress.
