Since you're still building out the rest, I'd suggest to cover the mattress with whatever old/cheap bed sheets you can find. Whatever you do to keep it clean, it'll still get dirty from other work you'll be doing. Once you're done with the build, then you can get the nice stuff. Nice seeing your work, even the stuff that doesn't work out right. Working on irregular angles/curves isn't easy. Keep up the good work. If it's stressing you out, it's ok to walk away and come back clear minded.

One more little hint.....if you don't want your plywood to splinter when you cut it....lay down painters tape where your cut will be measure and Mark your line on the tape cut and pull the tape and whala......no splinters with a very clean cut. Best wishes and it really is coming together.

Cool wall covering, (insulating as well) blanket batting stapled to plywood. Staple most liked pattern fabric around all edges no more than 1/4 ince in from edges, finish with decorative welting. All available at any fabric store. Results: padded frabric walls, warm, colorful, decorative. Buy a 12 in sample of bat and fabric, staple to a sample board.VOILA! Better than paneling, and scribe or tearout on plywood not a problem.

Good enough for the guys I go out with!! LOLOL (is my complete version of that statement). I love how you always manage to work things out on your own. I admire that. I'm 73 and hope I've enjoyed some of that in my life. I dunno, Emma. I think I'm probably more excited than you. Every time I watch one of your videos, it brings back so many fun memories of a bus I once owned. 33ft Blue Bird completely kitted out (except it could have used some new tires). Have fun with all you're doing. You have plenty enough encouragement out here in commentland. I'll be cheering for you on your future trips. Take care and don't let the scribing get to you. Hugs from Canada!! P.S. Yup. Some thick jute rope would be a very good coverup to your "mistakes". You don't have to have a nautical these to use jute rope.

Just wanted to offer a couple pieces of advice for templating. First the end that rides against the surface you are scribing to needs to be a point. You can make a cheap easy scribe with a paint stirring stick. Cut it in half, make one end pointy and drill a hole in the other end for your pen or pencil. Second… hot glue gun… glue your template pieces together…

Maybe someone else has mentioned this way. Since you have ten boards. What if you took two scraps to create a 90 degree template. Take the upright board and place it against the wall and use a level for the horizontal board. Then on every board take measurements on each side of the board. Since they are flat you should end up with twenty tic marks. Then a straight edge to line them all up. I have done this in the past. Keep up the great work.

Scribing is a difficult task, get your cardboard cut as close as possible to the curve, hold firmly in position, then get a cotton reel push a pencil through center hole with a little of the pencil showing, then hold cotton reel horizontal against the curve and scribe with the pencil onto cardboard, hope this will help.

The scribing tool MUST be kept perpendicular to the surface you want to copy, and that apllies to each board along the tracing. You will inevitably have little mismatches, that is where moldings (called quarter round) come in play. In the case of a curve, you may have to steam bend the molding to avoid breaking it if the curve is too sharp in the transition curve from wall to ceiling as it is in a bus.

For making a template string a line from one side of the bus to the other above windows using the same spot on each side. Then measure every inch from ceiling to string. Takes those measurements and record them on the template. Once you have recorded every inch mark. Connect the dots. Boom you have a template.

The jigsaw blade I use for plywood is the - BOSCH U101AO 5-Piece 3-1/4 In. 20 TPI Clean for Wood U-shank Jig Saw Blades, Silver. It is the cleanest cutting blade I've found. And before you cut out your piece do a sample cut on the sheet of plywood you are cutting. Sometimes one side will cut cleaner then the other. If that is true, you can plan your cut so the "bad" side is hidden. When you are cutting go slow and let the blade do the work. Amazon has them. Another way to scribe a line is with a small "wheel". Take a large hole saw and cut hole in a scrap piece of plywood. When you are done you have a plywood wheel. Put a pencil through the center hole and run the wheel along the roof, holding the pencil against the cardboard. As you run the wheel across the roof the shape will be traced onto the cardboard. A few #4 machine screws and nuts work really well to hold pieces of cardboard in alignment. You just need a 2 or 3 for each pair of pieces. And then add tape where you need it. Everything is coming out great.

Place outer edge of tape roll on side your tracing, place pencil against the inside of centre hole and press it to hole roll against edge your traction. The wiring of the switch is most likely the NEG tied together. The + is the feed or battery/fused side of the switch, the LED + is the load side of the switch and will turn on/off with the switch. I gave you a link to a vid I did on how to use a Multimeter and testing continuity. The meter can test the Continuity or the path of the power. So you can test a switch for operation or connect + to - to see if you have anything connected wrong or shorted out. You can test the battery end of cable all the way to the lights(with a wire extension for the meter) to see if it's wired correctly BEFORE you connect to the battery. If you have questions or confirmation...ask
@bus8117

Light switch stuff - what are the features of the switch itself? I want to say black -ve is your input and white -ve is your output which would mean the positive is for backlighting of the switch itself, labelled like that to over explain what it does. So when you wire your LED's, the -ve side comes from the switch and you wire the +ve side to battery. Labelling like that is purely to frustrate Emma's. Remember DC works in a loop, there has to be a +ve and -ve there, so those little electrons can pass through the battery, which is a long winded way of saying there is no RV wiring just different configurations.

I love your videos Emma. The trouble you go thru sometimes is so funny, ie cardboard cutouts for the ceiling cuts. I'm glad you got a sponsor, and they have such a cut spokeswoman 😁. It's looking great. And the painted wood, it's your house, you do what you want. Wood can be painted, or stained. As for the door bell thing, not sure. DC electric just needs a positive and a negative, no third wire. So seems very strange to me. Are you sure it was for a mobile home? I'm so excited for you, moving into the bus in just a few short weeks. Woohoo!

If you need to do more scribing, how about using a transparent sheet of pliable plastic, you could tape the sheet in place and then draw around the curves/shapes with a sharpie, then staple the plastic to your wood and cut.

You can get some of the natural fiber thick rope to use and it will look really great. There are a very skoolies online that have used rope trim. I worked at a resort that has cabins and we used rope in the cabins it looks very nice. The customer's always mention how much they like it.... For your walls: Perfect is the Enemy of Good (Enough). For the wiring: I tried getting different diagrams for wiring then remembered my stupid ceiling fan had this same issue. So without testing I would guess wiring would be V- Ground V+ Positive Led to Lights. Assumes you have the lights grounded to the frame. So just connect your ground from the lights back to the ground on the switch. If you need assistance you can always ask the 3 or 4 of us who have on past videos given wiring advice for suggestions. (The ones that aren't a$$hats). I, for one, like using the parts of my brain truck driving is shrinking. I don't know how far along you are yet, but good luck on your deadline. You have done a great job of the bedroom despite the struggles, It will look great when it is finished, by that i mean with the window coverings for your privacy and just a few other things to finish like the tunnel and groove board above the windows, As your mattress hides a lot of the wall have you considered buying a length of L shaper beading to cover up the plywood that isn't fitting quite so good, you can make it look like a door frame

Hi Emma, It’s so awesome to see you figure out what your next move is. I like your attitude ! I would recommend some white caulking around your walls or clear, just to fill in those little spaces. So, keep up your great work and be safe, Please. We look forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏽✌🏽💛🇨🇱.

Look into Brooklinen online. I've seen a few people sponsored by them and they rave about their sheets. They are a bit pricy but they look like they will last a long time and be very comfortable.

For that light switch, I am assuming that the switch is lighted or has a dimmer function? In that case, the black is for the ground specifically for the little light in the switch, the red and the white are the pos and neg for the light fixture. Keep in mind that in your case, it is very likely that some of your stuff was manufactured for automotive, and some for residential houses.....each uses a different color standard. Hope this helps!!

The switch she was using is a door bell switch. It stays on or off until the setting is changed. A door bell switch operates for a limited time, when it is pressed. To get multiple rings, it has to be pressed multiple times. The wiring provided gives the choice of DC or AC voltage.
