My first two daughters are only 19 months apart. My biggest piece of advice is to overlap their naps as much as you can. I know it’s kind of a free for all with a newborn and no set schedule, but even if it’s just five minutes where both are asleep, you will be so thankful. I also didn’t use that time for household duties like laundry, cleaning, etc. I made sure to always do that stuff when they were awake and playing so I could capitalize my me time during their naps. I eventually got them both on the same nap schedule (when our second was a bit older) and having that chunk of time in the middle of the day was amazing. Our third is almost 7 months and I’ve made it a priority to get them all napping (oldest now just does quiet time) at the same time. You’ll get there!

You look so relaxed and happy! Congratulations again on your baby girl. I’m so thankful your experience was more positive this second go round. Wishing you all the best!😊✝️

welcome back! The one to two shift was exactly the time, when I started to do my chores while the kids were awake 😅 so I could actually rest, when they where asleep. And I rested immediately, whenever they napped simultaneously (or overlapping 😂). We now have 4 kids between the age of 7 and 14 and up until now, I still do it that way… they don’t nap anymore 😅, but we still have some quiet time after lunch. And I NEVER do my kitchen in that time.

When I had my second child.. as best I could I would put the toddler down for a nap and when my newborn nursed and fell asleep during that time I napped also… it was very helpful!

Congratulations for your growing family! Glad to hear from you, but no pressure to keep producing content in this busy phase of newborn life.

Oh my goodness, I am so glad to hear that your birth experience was wonderful this time around. I had an emergency c section as well, and it was so good to hear that the planned one was good. It makes me anxious sometimes thinking that I may have to do that again. I would love to hear some more on the new things you are learning as a mama of 2 now. God bless!! ❤

Welcome back, Emma! Our c-section experiences are almost identical. I had an emergency C-section with my first child. It was around 1 something in the morning and I was exhausted. With my second, that c-section was planned, and I was able to have skin-to-skin for the first time. Like you, I missed out on that euphoric experience of birth but got it the second time around. 🥹

I thought our transition from 1 to 2 went pretty well because my husband would bath our son while I would bath and feed our daughter. We teased that each kid had a parent which really was true. Then we had our third, now we have a boy and 2 girls, by this time my son was showering on his own and I would bath the girls, as you can tell that was one thing that stressed me out the most was making sure the kids were bathed..just kidding that was one of many lol. Although everything else seemed to go smooth because of my husband’s shift he was home at night and if I started dinner and then the baby would need me he would take over. You will get into a nice little routine but I agree with several other comments try to overlap naps even if it’s just for a little bit and it’s just enough time to get a glass of water or run to the restroom by yourself. Every second/minute counts. 💜
