This episode seemed to lay all the pieces down for whatever is to come! How are you liking Andor so far?

We are thinking that the arcs will be composed of four distinct arcs of three episodes each (12 episodes total for the season). So, we get setup, setup, payoff. Then wash, rinse, repeat for the four arcs. That is what we are thinking. Thoughts?

I had read in advance that the show was designed to feel like a chapter or mini movie every 3 episodes. And designed to not go more than 2 seasons.

This isn't supposed to feel like Star Wars. It's supposed to be a dark drama that just so happens to be set in the Star Wars universe. As a Star Wars fan since the age of 5, I can safely say that this is a breath of fresh air. I love how we're getting something more mature in the Star Wars universe, set around ordinary people instead of Jedi.

The actor you recognize is Fiona Shaw who has been in a lot of stuff most prominently the shows Killing Eve and Fleabag and the Harry Potter films.

So those spacemen in the flashback appear to have the CIS logo on their outfits, very much like the CIS symbol featured at the time of the Clone Wars. But the Star Wars episode guild explains that the flashbacks were occurring during the later years of the Republic, prior to the start of the Clone Wars, The dead crewers aboard the transport corsair wear uniforms with a symbol closely related to the eventual Separatist Alliance but at this point the movement was pretty unknown or in the early days of being formed so around 24 BBY when they were formed. This ruled out the fan theory that these flashbacks were taking place at the end of The Clone Wars so 19 BBY years before A New Hope. The Flashbacks are now set around 24 BBY making Andor in his mid 20s instead of 21 like people thought he was in Andor. In Rogue One he would be in his 30s which I kind of like instead of him being in his mid to late 20s. I really do like the three part structure it's seems like we'll be getting 4 films cut up into 3 parts all building up together. 12 episodes together each having 3 parts that tell a different story arc that then carries over into the next. Episode 3 is a great pay off and can't wait to see how it call comes together. A

Hi Emme, Excellent reaction. I teach culinary arts at a college and will now have to invent a Kenari Pasta for my students. I agree with Tamorcet below that the gritty look and feel of the show is excellent. I hope you are enjoying making this content.

This is a really well written and acted show. Not much action, but the dialogue makes up for it. Ive been wanting Star Wars like this for a long time.

I’m convinced that writing and directing are the two most important aspects of creating a show/movie. Some of the minor characters with unknown actors here have better performances that A-listers in other shows
@DeutscherDummer Жыл бұрын
@@chrisherber1635 The acting was one of the things in Mandalorian that sometimes put me off, there were some characters (Not Din himself) who just were... strange? And not on purpose it seemed. Never in this show though.

@@DeutscherDummer yup, that’s the evidence of the director. (IMO) Andor had impeccable direction.

Thank you for the reaction. You are very good at guessing what comes next. Marie and I are really enjoying your thoughts and ideas about what is going on. That big pit is a mine (gone wrong), which you learn later on in the show. The Empire has been known to strip planets of ALL their natural resources and leave them in disrepair (this one has a prohibition from even going there, now). The guy hitting the bell like thing is called in the credits, The Time Grappler. Interestingly, we are thinking that the "bell" is possibly made of beskar (from Mandalore). Not 100%, but it sure looks like it is. When Bix turned off her computer when Timm came in...is the classic, covering your phone, shutting your laptop. How much does he trust the woman that he's dating? Well, apparently, they have trust issues. He peaks at what she was looking at. Don't you love the personality of B2emo. Love its movements and stutter. Well worn and gone through a lot. Maarva, the woman considered his mother. She played Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter series of movies. She's awesome there and here. When Cassian finds Bix in the bar, it is just not good for Timm to see them there together. His angle made it look like a trist, when it was something totally different. She even pushed his hand away. In the previous encounter with B2emo and Maarva, it was floated out there...that Bix was one of his MANY girlfriends of the past...so there's some proof for Timm's suspicion, but still. Alcohol and suspicion is NOT a good combination. Then he goes and rats him out. Ugh. Not good for Cassian...they find an old image of him...and the matron at the brothel is there to cooberate that THAT was the Kinari male they are looking for. Ugh. Could this be the first "off screen" sexy time shown on Disney+? Interesting. Love the guy who is filling Syril Karn with air. Mosk is the perfect brown noser. Just pushing all the right buttons. The ship that Cassian was in, that had the hidden Imperial tech is important. Remember that checkerboard compartment. Love the tension being built as the Kinari kids are getting closer to the downed wreckage. Timm being creepy...watching her sleep. That could be done in a better way, but sitting across from her and staring. Not a good look. Maybe his conscience is bothering him. Should've talked to her, first. Ugh. My wife and I have been married for 23+ years. Communication is the key to a successful marriage (relationship). Cannot last without it. The spears are actually blow dart guns. We are thinking that the yellow/green on thier skin is part of a poison that is billowing form the wreckage that we see in Ep 1 and her in Ep 2. It tainted their skin yellow. You definitely called it. Great job. Those hats (too small) and the colour (blue and orange are hard colours to pull off) of their uniforms are just way too janky. They look like dressed up monkeys with the drums. Not a good look. That awkward speech was brutal. The fake clapping and slow clapping. Too much. Then Mosk comes up to him and punches him back up. Ah, the chatty neighbor on a bus or ship. Cannot get away from them. Ugh. Love how they built the ending with Cassian walking toward the camera with the percussion building and building. So good. Thanks for this reaction. Cannot wait to see the next ones.

1:40 - That's called "Strip Mining". 2:35 - This is the first time we've seen Aurabesh (sp) (the language used in Star Wars) translated on screen. The alphabet for it IS consistent, and can be looked up. 7:15 - Actually, in this case, he's not being "creepy" about it. I will often stand at the bedroom door and watch my wife sleep. Just to appreciate that I have her in my life. 7:53 - I think we all love Bee. 😁 8:31 - Notice the yellow tinge to his skin. Think back to Episode I (Phantom Menace).... Remember when the Trade Federation tried to kill Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan? The gas they pumped into the room? What did this to them, could be either the same chemical weapon, or one closely related. 9:00 - Now you know what kind of weapon that was: A Blow-Gun. 10:35 - Remember, these guys are "Local Security".... pretty much "Mall Cops". 😉 10:50 - No, he's not. This guy is in WAY over his head, and he knows it. He's doing his best, which is kinda sad if you think about it.

I've seen some people saying it doesn't feel like Star Wars, and with the first 2 episode I can kind of see it. But I think that feeling only comes from the lack of Skywalkers and dudes in white plastic suits. To me, the Rebellion against the Empire is as core a "star wars" feeling as much as jedi and the force. So to me, having at this point seen 4 episodes, it does feel like Star Wars.

The Republican Crew of that shipwreck neither had actually yellow skin, nor was it the show shading weirdly. The ship crashed and when the Kenary kids arrived, it was leaking yellow smoke. That and the fact the dead were wearing masks means that there was some kind of gas leak that killed them all and turned them yellow. Like carbon monoxide poisoning turns the skin cherry-red.
