Its so weird watching a persons first try of something that you grew up eating, its completely normal to go and get a packet of pickled onion crisps its an ordinary flavor to us as for twiglets they're normally something you eat around Christmas time as little side snacks (At least in my part of the country). As for the skips tongue tingle thing that's just a new gimmick normally you just eat them like a normal crisp

i never really get why people just dunk their biscuit in for a second. the trick is to leave it in just before it begins to break (which is hard to master) then you have a beautifully melted biscuit. tastes even better when the biscuit's got chocolate on it

The flavor on the outside of Twiglets is Marmite. My husband's a Brit, and he loves them. When he goes there to visit mum, he always brings lots of bags of them back for himself and for all of his Brit friends. I find them repulsive. What I love are Welsh cakes. They're fantastic with some Devon Cream or clotted cream on them. Devon cream sold in supermarkets in small plastic tubs like margarine, and bringing it back in your suitcase is somewhat questionable - which is not to say that we haven't ;-)

Britain - the country where we queue like it's an Olympic sport and will only tut and sigh at someone breaking the rules but breaching biscuit etiquette has caused family ructions unto the 3rd generation. Consensus by committee is yet to be reached, although we've only had a few hundred years and these things take time, we thought we reached a turning point in 1850 with the established mass produced brands but it didn't last. I think the only thing we all agree on is that people who take a bite of all the kitkat fingers at once is definitely a wrong 'un. The jaffa cake debate is so polarised that even a court ruling is insufficient for the minority 'biscuit' brigade and friends are made or lost depending on how you eat them. It's serious business. You must provide Twiglets at a buffet though, doesn't matter if 3/4 of the guests think they're disgusting, it's traditional and therefore probably the law. I love going to parties though because I love Twiglets!

Most Americans do this. They even say (as Emmy does) it has "chocolate on the bottom". I saw a girl eat a Jaffa Cake upside down last week. She said "I like the top part, but not the bottom because it has jelly in it" or something to that effect. It's so very, very odd. Do they think birthday cakes or iced buns are iced on the BOTTOM? Do donuts have "sprinkles" on the BOTTOM? I wish someone could explain what has caused this bizarre cultural difference.

Emmy if youre wondering about the skips and how they tingle, I think the objective is much like the "tingle" you get from prawn crackers or the shrimp.chips (as you may know are the hard clear discs that puff up 4 times in size when deep fried and often come in various bright colours). It isn't necessarily the tingle you think first of being like a fizzy sort of feeling because the tingle is.more like feeling your tongue getting stuck to the chip as it dissolves in your mouth. Hope that helped clarify what the tingle was supposed to be haha. Love your videos!

I was never a fan of Twiglets though. We still have pick and mix these days, in sweet shops (candy stores,) and some supermarkets as well as local corner-shop type places. There's a whole big rack of big plastic containers with flip down lids, and they have so many things from redvine-like candy to gummy bears, worms and fun shapes, little white chocolate mice, chocolate buttons (milk chocolate disks), little gobstoppers, hard candies, chewy 'laces' coated in sour sugar, chocolate covered peanuts and raisins, cubes of fudge and a ton of other things. You grab a bag, fill it as much as you want and get charged for the weight of the bag. It is a GLORIOUS experience! :)

It was a pleasure to watch and listen to such a nice young lady comment on sweeties ( you call it Candy ) that I have grown up with. And you made me laugh at your Twiglet analyst. Such fun seeing some one from a different country having to taste them for the first time. This crunchy snack appears in most English households over Christmas, and no one knows why. I have 2 tubs of them in my lounge , and for the life of me, I am still trying to think why I bought them. I have spent most of the holiday making my grandchildren taste these damn sticks. Tradition dictates we emotionally scar each generation of our children by force feeding them with this product.

Glad you've been introduced to the delights of chocolate Hobnobs! Have you tried Cadbury's chocolate or Galaxy? Both are delicious and have numerous varities you can buy them in. If you're not keen on milk chocolate then Cadbury also do Bournville. A dark chocolate named after the town that their factory is based in. For more savoury snacks give Walkers crisps a go. loved this video. it was nice to see someone actually describe the flavours rather than just the usual 'it's OK'. there's a roast beef flavour monster munch you should try, i prefer those to the pickled onion. jaffa cakes are a must

Erm, no, they're not. Britain is Scotland, Wales and England. The UK (the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) is Scotland, Wales, England AND Northern Ireland.

I tried some salt water taffy and regular taffy that a friend of mine brought back from the USA. It's pretty good, softer than refresher style chews. More like fruitella.

Yeah... think MAOAM. And you're there. Taffy i've had from the states is a bit softer though...

why the hell cant americans understand this! Great britain is made up of England, Scotland and wales. The UK is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Further more, Ireland is not a country, it is a an island with two countries in it. The republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

I love the fact, that through the entire tasting of the Twiglet's, and the realization of not liking them, that you never stop eating them. That was great.
