You definitely make a good point. To add to that, I don’t think the recipe provided would ever provide an light and airy cake. It’s a somewhat basic dense white cake batter. She would have to use a recipe that relies on a meringue base like a chiffon cake and I would go with oil rather than butter.

A good Twinkie lasts forever. In 1922, when Carter opened King Tut's tomb, he found the Boy King's stash of 5,000 year old Twinkies, still edible. 😉 Love it when Emmy channels her inner "Count"! 😃

I like your attempt at a strawberry shortcake Twinkie version. Twinkies were originally developed to help a bakery that produced shortcakes for strawberries during the off-season The bakery used specially designed cake pans and added a banana-creme filling to sell their cakes off-season. It became a hit.

Actually I did, and the experience was incredibly surreal because it was late at night and it's cold and the lights flickered on the sidewalk leading to the lonesome 7-11 on the corner, the only open shop among destitute buildings that flank the establishment, and all this quietude was eerie until I walked in to purchase the goods. I returned to my cozy home to indulge in the fluffy, creamy, sweet sweet heaven that was my Twinkie. Well, Twinkies plural, I got the double pack. 10/10 would walk again.
