So I was the enemy teams bap support and the reason that Mei threw was because she wanted to play widowmaker orginally but our tracer told her not to because he diffed her in the last game and she got mad and threw the entire game. I have the footage of the game live on our end but sadly overwatche volume was not bumped up enough to hear the actual argument.

Yea I was noticing there was a fairly big support gap. Moira was going in not recognizing they had a good bap who wasn’t going to let Moira kill anyone. So one team had 4 players one being a good bap, one team had 4.5 since Moira was nearly useless. Bap did good Moira didn’t help ana with tracer, dva had to divers who weren’t flanking well they had a tracer who was flanking ana whole match, so team with healing and at least one useful dps won

@@fettbub92 really its on the support to bolster the backline 90% of the time, sometimes they can't do that because of dps positioning but really yeah you need the supports ready and willing to fight to keep the back line up. Every support has the tools to brace for when you get dove by a single tank or even 2 or 3 people. I feel like most even kind of good supports know its on them to fight it out and then make the call to flee if its a lost cause (and possible to still flee).

to be fair i do very silently blame the tank when they are too scared to fight out fights they should fight (i don't tell them outloud usually because i'm just a random on the internet who will never see them again, i don't care if they are kind of bad really). I play support and I prefer a tank who trust falls into me over and over in the match over a tank whos too afraid to fight. The only thing worse than a tank who refuses to fight is one that ONLY fights when they los their heals then yell at you as you're using every CD in your kit just to get LOS on them.

One thing I've learned in my 1+ year of playing this game is it's always Tank fault. DPS can't get a kill, keeping feeding or constantly losing 1v1s? Tank Fault. Get yelled at for not taking space when you're peeling and get yelled at for not peeling when you're taking space. You're taking every single cool down from the enemy team and no one on your team is making a play but it's you're fault for not being able to 1v5 every team fight. Tank is the least played role not bc it feels bad to play but bc it receives the most hate

My friends who dead ass say that tank is way too much stress or pressure. They aren't wrong. the question is, while you are in their backline pressuring them, what is their Tank doing? Assuming he's not dead and not on you, he's in YOUR backline, pressuring YOUR guys. So at this point it becomes a race to see which of you two tanks can kill the backlines faster. And if you can dive and kill the enemy backline, why would your backline fare any better after you left them alone against the other tank? And yes, as a Backliner i would blame you for leaving us hanging with the enemy tank, just as the other team will probably blame theirs. You going off into the enemy backline is only a winning move if you're certain your team can handle their tank without you.

So unless your backline is prepared to deal with that you're just flipping the coin on which backline dies first. I just came out of a game with a winston who thought like you as tank. we lost that hard, because the enemy JQueen was way better at killing than him, and she still had her mercy. And then he also complained about not getting help. So he just kept dying solo on the other side of the map while the Queen and her Mercy held us back. And that is totally on him.

It turns the game into which backrow can deal with the tank better into a fast team fight that is all which team is better suited

I had a similar situation in a competitive game. It was the second round, and we had finished pushing the cart all the way to the third point choke when I started struggling. I felt like the amount of healing I had been receiving was reduced. I tried multiple different tanks to try to get an advantage, and my Mercy, as soon as we started losing a fight, would say goodbye and fly back to spawn to wait for us to die and respawn. I checked the stats screen and saw that we had literally half the healing the enemy team did, and even our Zenyatta had more healing than our Mercy! I tried to brush it off and accept that they might be having a bad game. It happens. But when, after we lost the match, our Mercy typed in chat about it being so sad to watch the tank diff, I got tilted. I went back and rewatched the entire match at double speed just to see that for literally half the match, the Mercy was AFK on top of the payload! In Round 2, literally the only person who received any healing from Mercy was Zenyatta! Yet she claimed the reason we lost was because of the tank diff?!?!?!?!?!?!

This is just painfully relatable, which is why I keep most communications muted. You can be playing mostly right and the tank will still be blamed. Your average overwatch player likely doesn’t have anything good to say, you have no idea who’s really at fault unless there’s a real extreme in the stats or you can clearly see a teammate trying to 1v5 the enemy team, but in the heat of the game, it’s often not obvious who’s at fault.

My guess for that Mei, is someone on the enemy team tilted them last game, so they are trying their hardest to make sure they lose this game as well. Their rank doesn't matter to them, they just want to see the other person go down. I had something similar happen a few nights ago, I was playing tank and one of our supports flamed me for not throwing matrix on the pulse bombs they kept dying to. Mind you they were playing DPS moira, and using fade to get into the backline. The enemy Tracer was protecting the enemy backline, on what planet am I going to dive passed a Rein to matrix you dpsing. Flamed me, had me next round as well and proceeded to play Ana and purposely shot (but not kill) the enemy to feed as much ult charge as possible. Swapped and swapped back at 80%+ ult charge. Finished with under 450 healing.

I had a support game where I had almost 20k heals and still got blamed when one of my dps had not only 400 hrs on genji which he was playing but went 4 and 25 deaths and my tank was like just heal more and I think that the tank and dps were grouped which is why but I got blamed by the entire team (oh and the characters I were playing were baptiste, Moira , zen and Lifeweaver, no matter the stats you will get blamed

Yesterday I had game with enemy pharah always flanking. She never was with her team. The play was...get out of spawn fly around the map, jump support then join fight. Me and Ana constantly fought her, pinging AND calling her. We had 2 hit scans that did not shot her once through 2 rounds. They started mad talking s* that we're ass. High healing number usually also mean your team takes a buttload of damage and potentially dies a lot. So they're not playing particularly smart. Dps can have 20k damage but if they only have 5 elims that doesn't mean anything either.

Ctrl+shift+C is the default to close all in game chats. I highly recommend this when you get games with teammates like this and just do your best, take the loss (or the win if you're lucky) and just go next. This is an extremely important skill I highly recommend every body learn.

i just had a game where my team was non stop flaming our ball player for... playing ball correctly. We were stomping them, we won by stopping them on the first corner the cart takes in kings row and pushing quickly when we were on attack. Like this game was obviously in the bag. But my team just kept flaming our ball. I started chanting a mantra of "believing in our ball" to shut them up lol. Ball player seemed like a good guy on his way up the ranks, he was a menace and i felt bad for the other team having to deal with him... The people flaming him kept saying "idk how we won"... these people were feeding hard which is why they were flaming the tank, they kept losing 2v1's against the sombra (who started farming them because they were so easy) so yeah people flame tanks without understanding whats even going on ALL THE TIME and its super annoying.

I feel like any time a tank isnt a rein standing in front of their team with a shield to allow them to shoot uncontested, they don't like the tank. as an OW2 only player, I feel like this just isn't feasible. Tank is supposed to peel, deny/take space, and negate cd's/burst dmg. No. It's your supports job to deal with sustained pressure by healing and using cooldowns, and on the dps to maintain a position that doesn't get them killed. A tank like rein is good at negating dmg and taking space. Winston and such can dive for space, and poke tanks can deny dmg and pressure angles. It's one tank doing multiple things, while the other two roles have generally one job, maybe a small secondary one. It's by far the most gamesense oriented and difficult to learn. Stop auto blaming tank. If a support isn't doing as well, the tank's numbers go down too. If a dps isn't putting pressure on the enemy tank like their dps are to your tank, the tank's numbers go down. It is rarely just a bad tank. Maybe the enemy tank is better than yours, but stop just automatically putting the blame on them. We have an issue with queue times for tank being instant while the other roles can wait up to 15 fifteen minutes, but you want to bully all the people left trying to play it? If you actively blame your tank as soon as you lose a fight, you are contributing to the downfall of the game. Go look in the mirror, do a vod review, and realize you are not Kevster.

this is such a perfect microcosm of the state of tank right now. You could be doing everything right tank wise, while also being forced to be the one to make all the plays and being the only one concerned about the objective and you still get blamed for the incompetence of your DPS players who are playing their own game the whole time. If you're a DPS main stuck in silver or gold stop blaming your tank and start working off them, tank makes a push follow up with them, close the pincer between you and the tank, shoot over their shoulder at what theyre shooting at, you're getting harrased by a tracer? go post up next to them so that they can offer help. The games I lose as a tank are the ones where the DPS go off on their little side quests instead of working off the anchor that is their tank. I like tanking but it can be so incredibly frustrating always getting blamed for a loss, sometimes it definitely is my fault and i own that, but usually when you're being called out by dps you never even saw them the entire game.

If they lost with a person throwing, then they wouldn't stand a chance if the Mei was actually playing. This wasn't even close to a tank being bad, or being unable to fight as they did everything they could(The second fight showed how much The D.Va did despite losing that fight) this was a clear DPS issue as the video showed they couldn't beat the tracer nor do anything about the supports. I sort of wished their POV was shown as the picture would widen up just how bad the DPS truly was.

So I have encountered this behavior in ranked before. I think its two players in cohoots. One of them being on both teams. One person throws the other is trying. Ive been in that situation in the 4v5 with 1 thrower on my team at the end of the match when we won they said in chat sorry I cant throw harder than that

I think it’s a trend or something. Blame the person that’s actually doing decent on the team and try and gaslight them into thinking it’s all on them. Had a bastion in my gold game basically scream at me for not killing the enemy mercy. Was told I was shit because my dps was less than heals (playing as bap) and saying that was the reason he mained bap. I haven’t played the game since then, actually felt really bad for him because everyone in the game wrote he was the problem, even the other team

This is giving me PTSD from all my comp games. Their team is literally trolling and my team can't win a 4v1 vs a reaper. It just shows how incredibly bad and lopsided the ranking system is. Clearly these people are not even remotely of the same skill, and yet somehow they all end up the same rank. And so you get games where there are people who should be diamond or masters going against people who should be gold.

The Mei was definitely just griefing lol, I had a Lucio like that a few months ago. Would repeatedly jump off the map and laugh in voice chat every time. Some people just get a kick out of making other people angry (their own team in this instance😂)

one time I turned team chat on to say gg and saw my tank, a ball player, defending me and saying it wasn't my fault. no idea who was complaining or why, but it was so sweet 😭 note: they aren't the only one to ever defend me, but they were the most recent and it was lovely because their English wasn't perfect but they pushed thru the language barrier to be a kind person basically, everyone blames everyone else. I don't know if it's fair to say it happens to one role more than others - although I think you could make a case that tanks and supports are the most likely to be flamed, but as a sidebar, I don't think it would be fair to say that one role is more likely to flame - but it's overall just shitty behavior and I wish people would grow up.

I handle toxic team mates by asking them how to play better and while make them aware how bad they play in a sarcastic way. For example: Most of the time they shut up
