American here who has been primarily a British Royal Family watcher and buff until recently. I had just started branching out to the other royal houses around Europe, right before Queen Margarethe's abdication. And I got hooked. I have to say, I have been deeply moved by this transition of power. Seeing Frederik X get emotional has got me very emotional too! In the sweetest way. I keep having tears. I actually think he is one of the few Kings in modern times, who would have loved, to have had the opportunity to earn his medals. And could have, had he not been destined to become King. He has a military education from all tre arms, that includes Frømand (Danish SF comparable to US Navy Seal). While not having been part of Sirius Patruljen (Arctic unit, that patrols Greenland via Dog sleigh). He has had training by them, and been on a 4 months (I think) Sleigh expedition on Greenland. He obviously hasn't had any active duty deployments. But Just like Prince Harry. He fought in his youth, to be allowed to have a proper military career. But there is a big difference between being number 1 and number 4 in line for the throne.
