When I moved there was dog sick stains on the carpet. Nothing had been hovered or dusted, it was so dirty. I don't know why people leave it a mess

Oh Emma, i loved the tour of your old house and loved that you were leaving it so clean. My heart literally dropped 💔💔 when you said your new house was left in a state. People are absolute scruffs! The previous owners of my sisters house did that and left a load of shit in the attic! Thanks for the tip of the ‘first night box’. If we ever move again I will defo be doing that! My sister had my 2 children overnight when we moved which was really handy. I got tearful for you while watching the vlog. I wouldn't be unhappy to move as i really don't like my house anymore. I hope you have a happy healthy life in your new home. xx

I have had three homes in total, and have never been lucky enough to have had any previous owners leave the houses in a clean and today state to move into! It’s annoying when you have left your own sold house in a beautiful clean state!! But perhaps the previous owner was elderly, and did not have family or friends that could help him? We moved into our bungalow last December 12th after 23 years in our old house so understand the emotion and the memories. (Filmed it all on my channel 😉) I can't believe the person before didn't clean, leaving stuff behind! 😮 It takes a while to get unpacked and settled then the fun of decorating starts! We tackled it a room at a time. Hope you have many happy years in your new home! 😘

When we moved to Yorkshire from south Wales my dad came up with the removal van and stayed in a hotel while me and mum came up with the cat and camped in my bedroom, it's a small village so the first night there was only one takeaway open and we ate it on a box and camping chairs in the living room, was a fun adventure!

It never ceases to amaze me that we hand over so much money when we buy a new home and never know what will greet us! If you move out of a rented property you don’t get your deposit back if you don’t clean it. Ridiculous! Anyway, I hope you’re all settling in now. Let the fun begin 😀

We ended up staying over at my in laws (pre pandemic!) when we moved, our house was beautifully clean when we arrived but couldn't face re building beds and sorting anything after moving day. I agree, shouldn't expect to stay the first night especially with kids in tow!

My mum to help the woman who lived in my house previous to my family had to clean the house before we moved in and it took her another 6 hours to clean the house when we moved in as the woman never cleaned her house and we had to majorly overhaul the place to get it to a liveable standard

I feel you on the whole people leaving things behind! When I moved into my place there must have been 20 dead potted plants, 10 cans of lysol spray, randoms garbage , food in freezer/fridge (worst part was no one had lived in it for a year).

i cried to when i locked up my old home for the last time after 9 years , but i needed a bigger space after i now care for my brother . Been three years to this day we moved and love where we are but basically only moved 20 minutes away but have a lovely sea view . Wow I think not cleaning before you go is such bad manners, can't believe they left stuff in the freezer as well! We're in our first house. It was empty when we bought it and we moved out of a rented place so I haven't really had to think about other people cleaning yet. Wishing you lots of happiness in your new home! xx

When we brought our first house back in August it was disgusting! When we viewed it was full of boxes and furniture so we didn’t quite see how awful it was😂 took us 4 days to fully clean it! The previous owner had 2 huge dogs and 5 kids and I don’t think she’d had time to clean in about 5 years! Luckily as we were first time buyers there was no chain and we could just stay at my mums house which is 30 seconds down the road until it was ready! Good luck with the rest of moving in x

I had the same experience, but not during the pandemic. My heart sank for you. I cried when I walked through the door, it took a couple of weeks to get it clean and clear, but I was so angry. We left our house spotless and walked into a bio hazard. Hope you get settled faster than I did x

We had a cleaning company help with cleaning our new house when we moved, it was a good investment as they did it much quicker than we would have been able to. We've had similar problems where a previous owner left the house in a state and it took ages to get it straight

As if the decorator left halfway through the job. 😡I had the same problem with an electrician. He tried to find a fault and bashed his way through a newly plastered wall, cut a wire that wasn't even the issue and just taped it up. Never saw him again he never answered our calls. He left us with a hole in the wall with wires hanging out and the issue unresolved. At the time the issue we had caused us to be without hot water or heating. It was coming into winter too. Arse!! Thankfully we got it all sorted :)

Ahhhh this reminds me of when we moved, I scrubbed our house so it was ready for the buyers but the house we were moving in to was absolutely disgusting! What made it worse was we knew them (as the house is in the same street as my mum) and when I saw them in the morning the woman was like oh I've been none stop cleaning. What a lie!! I don't think the carpets had seen a hoover for years!

When we moved, the people had not cleaned for what seemed like YEARS. It was so disgusting- grease, cigarette smoke, cupboards full of out of date food... Coincidentally our removal company had moved out their family and felt so sorry for us as they knew the house was grim. They even helped us to clean as it was so bad! Three years here and we are still slowly dealing with the dodgy carpets and dodgy DIY, but loving it. One word of wisdom- it takes a while for the house to feel like a hone and I think a lot of this is to do with the smell- we had candles, incense sticks, etc to fumigate even after we had cleaned!

It’s so frustrating that people don’t leave things as they’d like to find them. We’re moving (hopefully) soon. Started the process just before lockdown in March and then in August, about 2 weeks away from exchanging contracts, the house we are moving to went into probate 😩 should have been complete in November but who knows now we’re in lockdown no 2 🙄

When I sold my 1st house and moved into my second house after we got the keys the previous owners were still in the house packing and “cleaning”. I’d like to know their definition of cleaning because it certainly wasn’t clean. They left stuff in the kitchen cupboards and fridge and freezer. We just deep cleaned the main bedroom and camped there for the night. Next day went to deep clean the kitchen and ended up ripping the oven out and ordering a new one. I just don’t know what I wrong with some people
