Just like you i have been waiting all those hours with boats, a spooky horserider, a not so impressive Lady gaga… until that very end.. The newest rumour on facebook was that she was gonna sing this song! So when i heard that music i already knew.. Celine!!!! Just like you i was sucked into my tvscreen to experience the whole extraordinary thing.. Celine looked like royalty with her excuisite dress our Queen Celine deserves!! She did it, her voice was flawless, matured, emotional. Her gestures powerful and soo Celine! She was the reigning Queen triumphing over Paris on the biggest worldstage ever. On the Eiffeltower!!! Just like you i was sooo moved by this performance. Impeccable, sooo powerful, soo graceful and grand! And it made me think of Evita Peron singing to the people of Argentina. Her hair like Evita, her dark make up that added to the grandeur, that beautiful majestic dress! What thoughts would have gone through her mind. Everything after working so hard to a comeback has lead to this moment. They gave her the number 1 moment by ending the ceremony and opening the Olympic Games. Wow just wow.

@@GilbertGTVHi Gilbert! I don't think that people praise Céline less that the others you refured... at least outside the USA. What you said about "the world finally" this and that, I think you mean in the USA, because at least in Europe, she always hs been bigger that Mariah or Whitney and even more than La Belle. In Europe there's not that competition about who's better or worse, so, when I say that she has been always bigger I'm talking about appreciation or revelance.

I learned French as a teenager. The song she sang is called ‘L’Hymme d’amour’ by Edith Piaf. To be asked to sing Edith Piaf is an honor in itself. The song is a love song called ‘The Love Hymn’. It was written by Edith Piaf for her husband and it’s about hope in the face of adversity. Edith Piaf is a legend. There’s never been a more appropriate piece of music for her to sing in this moment.

Merci de le préciser parce que si Céline est émue c'est aussi parce que les paroles de cette chanson d'amour lui font penser à tous ceux qu'elle aime. " Dieu réuni ceux qui s'aiment" c'est un message d'amour envoyé au monde

You have to listen " Mon Dieu " . 1949 Marcel cerdan had to join by plane Édith Piaf, her partner, who was in New York for a show. But he crashed and when she learn that her love was dead , Anyway she decided to perform on stage and singing this song " Mon Dieu ". true..

I also commented on Edith, because when I heard the opening, it killed me. What an honor to sing that song by "The Little Bird", who also fought to sing with debilitating rheumatoid arthritis & liver cancer. Gilbert, what a wonderful presentation you put together for all of us to see and enjoy! NBC, of course, had the official video and John De Leon's edited version was also tremendous featuring some of the audience standing in the rain listening to her sing. In the last chorus at the end of the song, she looked straight at the camera into all our eyes and we all welled up with tears and dare we wiped away any of the tears. My favorite Celine performance was in a church when she sang her version of 'Oh Holy Night'. (I play it often throughout the year.) This ranks right up there with that performance. Gilbert, you are a kind human being with a beautiful heart and I want so much to tell you to listen to someone else who I know you will love as much as Celine. Impossible? Well, this is Celine's moment and I will not compromise in any way the love she deserves at this moment so I will wait until the day you discover this wonderful young lady sing for you and start crying again. I have watched and listened to Celine sing this at least 100+ times and I feel bad for a lot of the reactors who were unable to show the entire video because of copyright restrictions. In answer to the question, "Will she sing anymore (before the Olympics)?" The answer is she will sing as long as she wants to and her heart is telling her to do just that because she knows she has been given a gift. (And, so does the young lady I've talked about.) I know I'll be seeing you soon. I just subscribed.

It has been over two fully years of feeling better and the medicines have been starting to work and ever since then she has train her body and muscles and her voice 5 days a week . Ever since . And that’s worth mentioning.❤

Omg. I really love how she has been looking much healthier and happier lately. I wish we knew, though, how her daily life is like now. Wish we'd have some update on that. Seeing what that disease can do to her kind of traumatized me haha :') She's the absolutely best! She doesn't deserve any of this. Glad to see how she's fighting it though.

I absolutely love that you started your reaction at the torch passing and lighting of the olympic vask. This moment built the emotion up to the start of Céline's singing. You're the only one who did that and I absolutely love you for it, man. Well done ! For our queen Céline 👸🏻❤

@@nikkos34 Thank you so much!! Right?! I just started recording because I didn’t know when she was going to come on and I felt like that anticipation was part of the experience. With respect, I think many reactors are simply reacting because she is so viral right now and they aren’t really reacting to show the genuine excitement of her comeback and what this really meant for those of us looking forward to it for weeks once the rumors started she would perform. They just want the views of performing to this. Heck, one video had two reactors on screen and they didn’t know anything about her at all. The thought she was in her 70’s, dealing with cancer, and hadn’t made music since the 90’s. Totally living under a rock. Lol It was so good to see her after YEARS of having been MIA from the stage. Thank you for taking the time to notice what I left in on purpose. Makes me feel seen and appreciated so much! Thank you! 🥹

@@GilbertGTV I know you're à true fan, I've been watching your videos. Your reaction is so genuine. You were 100% feeling that performance, hypnotized by every word. You didnt interrupt. This is the best reaction vidéo for this performance by far ! I'm french and Céline is not slept on in Europe. She's a legend. She's above everybody else. Americans forget she's had a parallele career in french : she recorded 15 original french albums. None of the other Vocal Trinity did that ! Céline is way above. She's our Queen 👸🏻 Love u, man. Keep making those amazing vidéos 😉🙏🏼

ironically i think she sounds better than she has done in years. The treatment is obviously working, not a hint of nasal here and all the power is back, incredible. I assumed it was playback while watching it because of the jaw wobbles etc that she does when overcompensating for that, but i don't know and if it was thats completely understandable - the fact that shes even there at all is amazing. Also the fact that this is what she sounds like now is so so encouraging. She sounds amazing. She looked Angelic - i couldnt believe it - monumental moment

@@cttwii “jaw wobbles” haha! That’s what I do when I lip sync! Haha 😆! Maybe Celine borrowed it from me? ROTFL! 🤣! But I agree! There was no nasal, no grit, no “Water and a Flame” smokiness (basically the sound of most of Courage.) These were the RICH, rested, clean, whole, hydrated, heavy, solid, pristine Celine vocals we have been used to in the 90’s and early 2000’s! Absolutely! She sounded INCREDIBLE! This has me so excited about the future!

I’m from Toronto. In the summer of 1990, when her first English album had been out for a while, I worked at a record store as my summer job. My manager went to see Celine Dion perform at an outdoor venue (it was Ontario Place). Anyway I recall during a shift some day afterwards he was talking about the show, and to this day I still remember him saying “but yeah, she has a wicked voice”…..”I think by the time her next album comes out, she’s gonna be a big star”. I keep thinking of that conversation every time a moment like this happens. Understatement of a generation, Dave!

I thought from the moment I saw that Celine was in Paris, and the only thing that made sense to me was that Celine would sing at the very moment when the Olympic flame was lit, from the Eiffel Tower, when the eyes of the whole wirld were wide open. What a triumph of life, love, strength, will, desire, devotion, perseverance. What a woman... Goddess...This will resonate for all time...Magnificent....God bless her 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Gilbert. Like you I sat and watched the whole opening ceremonies just so I didn’t miss Céline. Wow! That’s all I can say. I sat in my chair tears streaming down my face. If that doesn’t cement her place at the top of the echelon of singers I don’t know what will. I guessed what song she would sing and figured she would be at the end but the way they staged it on the Eiffel Tower was more than I could imagine. Sublime. I also loved how her pianist kept smiling at her. Everyone is so proud. As a fellow Canadian I am always so proud of this classy lady. I do have a prediction. I think this performance will earn her an Emmy for best live musical performance. If it doesn’t it should. If she never sings again I am so happy for her at this accomplishment. She looked like an absolute Angel. That dress was so beautiful! I’ve been watching for your take on this since it happened. Thanks for never disappointing on your reviews.
