Craig is a great example of a Patriot. He served many years as an Army Ranger. Just a brave and Godly man. If we had more men like him, this country would heal.

Craig Morgan is also a military vet. He has a number of really good songs, such as "Almost Home" and "This Ain't Nothing." This was the first time he sang this in public and he planned it to be the only time he performed it at all. Ricky Scaggs and Blake Shelton convinced him to record it and Blake sent out social media messages to his fans asking them to watch it and bring it to the top of the Billboards, which it was for at least a short time.

From one vet to another thank you! I lost my son who was serving as a Marine and this song really hits home. I was doing the exact same things he sings in the song. I didn't want to go out with friends, I really didn't want to do anything. I would and still do, go outside every morning with my coffee and say my prayers and talk to my son. One day ill be home with him too. I didnt hear this song until about 6 months after my sons passing, and it felt like this song was written for me. I think the hardest part of being a man is being and acting strong when you are all broken on the inside. Much love brother and thanks for this reaction.

He is an incredible artist. His son drowned memorial day weekend a few years ago..it was a tragic accident. This was actually the 1ST time he performed this song in public...he is a former Army ranger, just really one of the good guys in the music industry..

It was the first, last and only time he did it live. Much respect. I'd be fucked up and in a straight jacket. Ain't no way I wouldn't lose my mind.

This song gets me everytime! The strength Craig has is unbelievable. I lost a daughter almost 2 years ago and I still can't talk about it. Craig Morgan has some amazing songs. You should go down that rabbit hole. He is also a decorated veteran and he saved a family from their burning house. He is such a good man.

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking song 💔 I can’t look at his face while he is singing and not cry.

He does it live in concert...once in a while. He said not every show because it takes way too much out of him. He has to really be up to it and he always saves it for the very last song when he does do it...then he leaves the stage...his grief is still so raw

This is the first time he sang this song. He was asked to sing this and he wasn’t sure he could, but he did. He never intended to record it but was encouraged to to maybe help others. His son died in a tubing accident at the age of 19.

If memory serves me, Craig was a F.O. in the 82nd and the 101. He was actually stationed in Panama when we went in to get Noriega in ‘89. Craig’s song “Paradise” is about his time in the army and later reflection. When I graduated from the US Army infantry school in March ‘01, our company 1SG had “Paradise” playing during our Turning Blue Ceremony, and nice little ceremony where us young, freah, newly minted infantrymen got our Blue Cords. Check the song out bro! You won’t regret it.

Craig is a heck of a guy. Between his active duty and reserves he served a little over 17 years. I believe about 7 or 8 of those active duty years were as a combat medic. He got out and after doing a few different jobs got the chance to do music full time and has been very successful. Craig decided that one of the things he felt disappointed about was not getting his 20 years in. So about a month or 2 ago on stage and in uniform, he was reinducted into the Army Reserves. He has decided to get to that 20.

This performance was meant to be the first and only time he would ever perform it live, but after leaving the stage he was approached by Ricky Skaggs who congratulated him on the song and he said he would never do it again, to which Ricky told him he had to keep going and what it would mean to the world and others in grief. Also Blake Shelton got involved and led a social media campaign push to get the song played on radio and up the charts, ironically enough taking his own song gods country from top place. Some small addition to the story of his son, aged 19 drowned in a tubing accident during a weekend getaway at a family vacation property. Also worth mentioning he has said the chorus of the song came to him in a dream, which he attributes to "a holy ghost"

Craig Morgan is an amazingly strong person with a great voice. He has so many deep songs that he pours his heart into. Many of them circle around the military due to the career he spent serving! Highly recommend deep diving into some of his stuff..even if it'd not for reacting videos

Thank you for the lovely, respectful and genuine reaction! I saw him interviewed about this song, he said he can't perform it live every time and it takes so much out of him that it is the last song of his shows. I hope you will check out more of his music, he has a lot of really good songs.

Initially he wasn't going to release this song but he played it for Blake Shelton and I believe Kelly Clarkson and they begged him to release it to help others who have or are dealing with similar loss and my parents lost my younger sister 10 years ago come December and I played this for my mom and it helped because when we lost my sister she didn't want to do anything except sit in the house and I had to talk her into going shopping for Christmas because it was something she loved to do and I personally hated shopping and still do but I felt I had to do something to help and it did help we opened up to each other and let our grief take over and cried together for what seemed like hours and she thanked me for helping cope with the loss

Lights are shining bright It's always downtown on the road I have friends that come from outta town Asking me to go They say, "There's so much going on Why don't you come along and show us around?" I tell them Karen's not feeling well So I probably shouldn't go out Besides I've gotta fix a list of things I need to do around the house Then I hang up the phone Turn the radio back on, and sit back down I know my boy ain't here but he ain't gone In the mornings I wake up, give her a kiss, head to the kitchen Pour a cup of wake-me-up and try to rouse up some ambition Go outside, sit by myself but I ain't alone I've got the Father, my son, and the Holy Ghost I've been beat up I been pushed and shoved But never ever really knocked down Between mom and dad, Uncle Sam and friends I somehow always pulled out But the pain of this was more Than I'd ever felt before, yeah I was broke I cried and cried and cried Until I passed out on the floor Then I prayed and prayed and prayed Till I thought I couldn't pray anymore And minute by minute, day by day My God, He gave me hope I know my boy ain't here but he ain't gone In the mornings I wake up, give her a kiss, head to the kitchen Pour a cup of wake-me-up and try to rouse up some ambition Go outside, sit by myself but I ain't alone See, I've got the Father, my son, and the Holy Ghost I hope, I love, I pray, I cry I heal a little more each day inside I won't completely heal till I go home In the mornings I wake up, give her a kiss, head to the kitchen Pour a cup of wake-me-up and try to rouse up some ambition Go outside, sit by myself but I ain't alone I've got the Father, my son, and the Holy Ghost One day I'll wake up and I'll be home With the Father, my son, and the Holy Ghost
