I love the bit about people not understanding that understanding any part of a language is the key to learning all of it, we learned all of ancient egiptian from a tablet that basically said that some priests support the reign of the pharaoh (the rosetta stone)

I am curious to read about the counterstroke with this one. Normally, that's a foregone conclusion on both how it would go, and what sort of damage it would do to the enemy, but here? This was a work fleet, their ships aren't going to be the most powerful, like how saiyans sent babies to low powered worlds. Even better, next time they meet, they'll be a threat, and how the aliens respond to that would be interesting to see, as will they try to negotiate? After all, we've seen that in the real world, once you start fighting back the larger side just wants their stuff back, and they'll claim to leave you alone, all while they assemble the forces to crush you. Still, a good reading, and a well paced glimpse into this universe.

Very good story and good narration! Very well crafted methods of a world at our level of tech dealing with losing a world war to more advanced aliens, but then using their own culture and tech to come back from the ashes, take the next war to them, and save the Earth. Then, start preparing to launch a major defensive war against the entire civilization of those aliens. In this type of situation, we would have no choice, as the alien civilization would definitely try to exterminate us again and finish destroying the Earth. Although stripping a viable life-supporting planet is wasteful, if there are some serious drawbacks for the aliens, like too much gravity, or too hot, or too cold, then I could see them preferring to strip it instead. Anyway, this story needs at least one more chapter.😊

"It wasn't like in the old movies..." ...except for the part where only American cities are mentioned when the aliens show up, lol. These Kau-Ko are a one-off species, right? They're not in the Amia shared universe? Cause I remember the humans there entered the galactic stage with a war against someone and I cant remember their name. Kau-Ko sounds familiar but I dont think that's it. Also, the voice at the end kinda reminds me of how Anakin speaks in that one AI-voiced comedy vid of him talking to Palpatine about his thesis on The Tragedy of Dark Plageus the Wise.

Kalukamsku I think... or however it's spelt. I think they were more like giant space cockroaches with lasers and flamethrowers.

I wonder what they decided to send. A flaming bag of poo on a planetary scale?
