i) Why Germany and France fought? so France was one of the thirteen countries in the triple entendre and Russia was the Central Powers and as we all know they fought eachother but to get to Russia France first had to go through neutral Germany, which Germany didn't like fought back which ended in the war we know today. But why didn't France just ship their troops over the atlantic? you may ask but you should know the atlantic also was a neutral nation which caused the uk to do essentially nothin in the larger conflict as they were embroiled in deadly conflict with poseidons forces his torpedo-dolphins, which were first deployed in this war, sank thousands of british ships, he even managed to take Scottland and drag it from the mainland, but only stopped when Triton, king of the mediteranian sea, stepped in, because he was vehemently against such terraforming after the travesties of Italy and New Switzerland, and poseidon gave in as he did not wan't to fight his son. 166w.

I think another factor you don't seem to mention in you scoring is the intent of the map. Some randomly misleading promotional nonsense is one thing. But that last one says "study this and then answer questions". Suppose the first question is "list the Central Powers". What do you do. List what is on the map (since the question does say "study the map" even though it's utter nonsense). Or answer with your actual knowledge and ignore the map and get dinged for "not studying the map". This seems like a total trap question as a result of the ridiculous map. It already got "Nope" but i am feeling a "multiple Nope" might be justified.

Never mind Germany being neutral in that last map, the country that started WW1 is 1) misspelled and 2) neutral. It's a wild alternate universe where GB, Portugal, France, Norway, Sweden, all of the Balkans and Turkey (apparently Ottoman empire fell apart a lot sooner, probably because of the tsunami that split Scotland from England) joined forces with African Switzerland to launch a naval invasion of Russia, bypassing the neutral states of Germany, Italy and Austria, which resulted in great famine in Austria, making it Hungry. No one quite knows what happened to Denmark, but it is better not to ask.

Hadrian's canal. Now there's an idea. As the wine of the feast to celebrate the completion of the Wall turned to a pounding hangover, Marcus of the XXth legion woke up to the sound of screaming. Are the barbarians so stupid as to attack on the very first day the Wall is complete?!? He got the basics of his armour on, grabbed his spear, and ran out. Not a barbarian in sight yet, but everyone from the fort was running up to stand on the wall. Even the women and children. What is going on? Marcus too ran to the Wall and up the steps. He would have pushed his way along the Wall to get a better glimpse of whatever it was, but it was obvious from the moment his eyes got higher than the battlement. Sea! There's a Sea where there's supposed to be the barbarian lands! Looking to the horizon he saw what looked like it was the lands that used to be below the wall, but now they were just visible at the horizon. Not hearing where it began, or when he joined in, all around him was a chant: "Neptune's Wall! Neptune's Wall! Neptune's Wall!" Hadrian's Wall was now dwarfed by Neptune's Wall. Apparently his commander agreed with the chant and by the time people started going ack down orders were to start preparing sites for both a temple to Neptune where it the god might gaze upon his work, and a small harbour outside the gate in the Wall that the fort was built to protect.

From a purely test creation perspective, they both are unnecessary information so just shade them the same, I guess? I dunno, they probably shouldn’t have added their names in that case but I like trying to figure out why stuff like this happens. It's certainly low on the crimes committed by that last map, but it is funny that for some reason they shaded every country except portugal

There are central powers in that map, it’s just Russia though. It was Russia vs Britain, France, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Swiss North Africa, Greece, Serbo-Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania.

A terrible thing about the last map is that the ocean had the same political allegiance as some countries. Good to know the Atlantic Ocean declared neutrality in WWI.

I'm from Michigan, and when I was in elementary school there was a mural that was supposed to show an outline of Michigan, except it depicted the state as entirely surrounded by water, as if all the other Great Lakes states and Ontario all just sunk into the lakes. I noticed the mistake as a kid but never mentioned it because I had no reason or cause to.

If only you had taken a photo of that mural with a smartphone that probably didn't exist yet...I don't think it would make Nope/10, but it could have been a contender.
@hotwax93762 жыл бұрын
@@timothymclean Unfortunately, my time in elementary school predates KZbin or smartphones, but the mural well might still be there because it wasn't THAT long ago (I was in third grade when 9/11 happened, for example.) And even if I could've gotten a picture back then I probably would've gotten in trouble. I don't live far away from the school and if I ever go back there in the near future then I'll be sure to look for it and take a picture if it's still up. But again, I haven't done it because I've never had reason to.

I would argue that the Europe map poster is just fine, the poster is meant to be for advertisement not for educational purposes and the map is just an illustration there, they didn’t have to make an accurate borders because it wouldn’t have added anything to the advertisement And just like how Jay foreman once said “no map is right and no map is wrong and all map is map”

Two more point to the last map: Portugal just gets no markings at all. They weren't in any alliance or neutral, what were they then? And I think Russia is shown as being part of the central powers. So according to this map WW1 was fought between Russia vs southeast, north and west Europe. while central Europe and all of the seas stays neutral xD
