I personally was able to get it down to 150-160, lower the dwell, and used a .685-.688 barrel and still shot 300fps. All bone stock. These gats can get super smooth and efficient if u work with them. I recommend the axe for anyone and anything.

Never shot an Etek, but the Ego 10 that I shot was nice and smooth, as well as light and easy to grip. Little loud, but that's only a minor factor. In the defense of the Axe, even though it is like a mini, it is not a mini. The innards of it are just slightly different enough that it is so much better. Honestly, as long as you follow the manual on any gun you get, and don't screw with it too much, your gun will treat you well.

thanks for the info. I do own Etek 3-4 and a Axe. Axe shoots smoother, nice grips and trigger. but etek comes with everything else in the box. I don't tend to play to much "ninja" I lover putting my etek 3 on 3 round burst (ape board). The other team seem to jump, run, and hide. Really funny! thanks for the reply!!! Reflex really leak, my friend has one and he tend to use my Axe when we play.....

for new, go for the GOG eXTCy $250, Invert Mini $325, Proto Matrix Rail $250, Planet Eclipse Etha $350, or GOG eXTCy with Blackheart Board $250. out of these id get the etha for used. id get the Empire Axe $380, Planet Eclipse Etek 4 lt- around $400, 2012 Proto Matrix Reflex Rail- around $400. NT10- $400 on trademygun, or a used Planet Eclipse Etek 3 lt. out of these i would get the used NT11 on trademygun. it comes with everything except the tools and the spare parts, but you could buy those.

Yes, adjust your velocity screw in the back cap to achive max fps then adjust your velocity trough your relay reg (ASA)

Air efficiency. An untuned Axe can get about 5-7 pods on a 68/45. A tuned Axe can get upwards of about 10-12 pods on a 68/45

@thejunkwarrior he says dont use the stock barrel so that the paint is shot at a consistent speed if the paint is .683 and you are shooting out of a .695 barrel there is a problem with air... After youtune it you can shoot it with what ever barrel you want

What makes the gun quiet is how soft the pressure of the spring is on the bolt. crank up the psi and mess with the velo.

Brilliant! Question though: I have a spring kit for my axe with three different length springs. Which length of spring (short, medium, long) would you recommend putting in before I tune my axe?

it should work with a mini since they are almost the same as the axe. it works with an axe though its much more quiet i can tell that and feels great. im gonna try it with my bro's mini tomorrow or on the weekend.

i would say the axe isnt a high end gun BUT is an amazing gun. For $465 you cant go wrong with it. My only complaint with the gun is it comes with a 12in barrel. I would recommend upgraded the barrel even to a CP 1 piece barrel 14in for $30. Cant go wrong with that combo.

Anyone please feel free to answer this question that I haven't seen an answer for that really made sense. Is it bad to dry fire a paintball gun with and without air(board on eyes off) and if it is bad please explain why. If it makes a difference on what gun i have an axe. Thank you.

Last question anybody, he said that you don't need to service the poppet for like 30 cases or whatever? But empire says the poppet is the most important part and you should service it regularly. Thoughts?

Hi Mike, Thanks for the videos, and keep em coming; they're very helpful and entertaining. I have a quick question about the settings on the axe. I'm relatively new to the sport, and I have only had my axe for a couple months. I'm going through the settings and trying to set the ROF for 20BPS (25 LED flashes), but it won't save that setting. When I reboot the marker it will only save max 15 BPS. I'm not sure if there is another setting that I'm missing. I know it will shoot faster than that because when I turn the eye off it cycles much faster. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

i dont know if i tune it wrong but on my mini it does not work on streams of paint it felt like i dont have air on my tank +when i try raise the presure by the regulator the fps dropped... so i will wait for another repors on mini tune to compear and try again.

this is an inline poppetm isnt it? is there a similar setup for a spool valve w/o lpr like the proto rail and the reflex??

idk whats bad about the mini, my friend has one and its great except for the ASA. and the ego 10 has the shaft 3, s3 reg, oops asa, but if its cheaper than an etek 4 id say the ego 10. but the etek 4 has a shaft 4 , sl3 reg, and the new oops asa. the main thing better that the ego 10 has that the etek 4 doesnt is the LCD screen, but just buy a rampage board. i love my etek, i did upgrade the trigger, bolt, barrel, and got an exalt reg grip. they honestly didnt do that much and arent worth it :D

Im using a tech t Derlin bolt and I did this but the regular drop to 120 and I'm shooting at 285/290 will this be fine if I leave it set up like this or go for the 170/180 ?hope you can help with my question thanks

You might over do it, it takes less messing around to soften the poppet spring first. If you do the reg first, you don’t know where you’ll cap out with psi afterwards, so you might have to go back and forth a bit.

The Etha was a good gun but the problem with it is the fact that its mainly plastic and the back cap o-ring seal needed an excess amount of lube to seal up or it'll leak. The NT would be a decent gun but for market value, it's terrible. I'd go reflex rail or Axe. I miss/loved my axe.

Hey Mike. Quick question for verification. I have followed this video in tuning my Axe. You said all velocity adjustments should be done only through the regulator and not through the poppet spring after tuning. I play in different settings that require a lower velocity so I do change the velocity regularly. Those velocity changes should only be done through the regulator? Thanks. Ps - They released only 500 of these. I have number 499 :)

dm's are easy. Set your hpr to 300. Zero your lpr. Then increase the lpr until the bolt sucks back, then do another 1/4-1/2 turn. set velocity. done

Whenever I play indoors, the fps is around 240-250 so the pressure I end up getting is like 110-120psi
