I know im replying 5 years late but for anyone else with this question, the axe 2.0 is metal so its more durable. the etha (now 3) is a smoother shooting marker but its plastic, they feel durable but personally i dont trust plastic

loved my original axe, sold it years ago, got back into paintball, picked up the 2.0, its a straight shooter out of the box, not the smoothest shot in the world, but for what you pay, its a great marker.

The 5th version actually, the empire syx is the 6th version of the invert mini. The syx came out after the axe 2.0.

so just because I have owned an axe in the past and own Glass Reinforced Nylon body markers I can say this with absolute certainty, just because it is GRN does not make it less reliable. go watch madman's review of the Etha 2 he throws it like 40 yards twice or 3 times, and throws dirt on I after he shot it up with paint, and it isn't even phased. Also the asa, regulator, solenoid and bolt is where your reliability comes from, and the sleeve inside and the majority if not all of the parts of the bolt, solenoid, reg and parts of asa are metal... it is just in the feel were you will see a difference if you actually listened to what he said. plus if you wear gloves you can never tell anyway...the only thing that is probably the better of the two guns is the trigger, empire just knows how to make great triggers.

I just sold my stock feedneck the day I bought mine & replaced it with inception no-rise so it was like 20 more to add ule feedneck. blinking LEDs are garbage so etha2 was not option for me.

Just picked up and asked 2.0 for $200. Stumbled into a guy trying to sell his marker to the field. And they were only going to give him $125. My little brother loves this thing it's a definite step up from his die CZR. I don't know why everybody makes a big deal about the two piece barrel. The barrel kind of sucks, and the first thing you're going to do is change that out. Unless you're going to put together a whole empire barrel kit.

I loved my first gen axe it served me very well but the issue I have with empire now is that the axe and mini gs look to much alike. I have the same issue with skates, if I'm paying a higher price I want something that looks different than the lower end version of it. But to answer you're final question I would go axe over etha 2. The etha 2 might be the ugliest gun i've ever seen and at that price I don't want to buy something I think is ugly.

avalanche1220 the mini gs is not lower end, it is excactly the same, minus bolt removal and size. They are supposed to look the same, they are basically the same gun.

I'm well aware I've owned both but the point I'm making is that the axe is roughly 200 dollars more so when I'm paying that extra cost I want something that at least aesthetically looks different

Great review, easy to understand and straight to the point, bonus point for a very short intro. Recently started paintball with my friends a couple of months ago in other words Im new. really love the colors on this one black and copper however it seems a bit small for me, shame but you have mention Etha 2 before in atleast 3 videos that it's more comfortable on your hands than the others however I just can't seem to find a video where you test it on the field, will appreciate if you did in the near future just wanna get an insight how it shoots and stuff.

Etha 2! As a woodsballer, the traditional look of paintball guns aren't that appealing. The Etha 2 blends in a bit better with woodsball/scenario style gear

Just bought one, just getting back into the sport after 11 years (used to have an FEP Quest) and I was considering buying an older high-end marker like the Ego9 or 10, but your reviews helped me out and decided to go with newer technology at a reasonable price. (got my axe 2.0 with one case shot through it for $285. What brand of paint would you recommend shooting through this? the only high-end paint that I remember was Marbalizer or Draxxuss? Not sure of 2018 paintball standards.

Axe 2.0 over the Etha 2, just because most of the Axe is all metal, 30 dollars later and the feedneck can be switched to the Squish/Ressy/Sniper feedneck

Id imagine the rubber and metal feel more premium but im worried my hands would be too cramped up on the Axe 2.0 which is a shame because I think it looks cooler. But id rather have a smoother quieter shot and the Etha seems to be the better option for that, whats your take?

That is the only reason I would chose the E2 over the A2. Both have a smooth shot, both are quiet, but the trade off is if you want an efficient gun, go with the Axe, if you want a smoother shot go with the Etha2. I got rid of my Axe because I didn't like the angle of the trigger frame, went to a GTek, hated it, went to a Shocker RSX, loved it but it was too light, then bought a used LV1 and haven't looked back. I don't like the composite feeling of the Etha2, but if you can get past that it's a nice shooting gun.

From owning my axe for 6 weeks I’ve found that if you’re just playing casual the grav feds decent, (causal being local play against mainly rental players) I upgraded to a jt hopper (basic electric hopper? Was entry lvl) and I can promise it improved my balls flowing, shooting, hope this helps? 👌🏻

I looking to buy me second gun I currently have an azodin Laos 2 and want to get an electronic gun. Right now I am looking at the mini GS but found an old axe (1.0) that never sold for 25 dollars more. You have to engage the air super super slow and not let the little valve that gets pushed in the tank to slid to the side. .

What is the maintenance on this like? One of the things I love about the Etha 2 is how easy to maintain it is. No separate wires for eyes, trigger, or battery (and you'll almost never need to touch the solenoid wires), super easy to take out the reg for maintenance, easy to separate top and grip frame, easy to clean eyes, easy to change battery, everything about it's design is making it stupid easy to maintain.

Very easy. Basic maintenance is going to be very similar to the Etha 2. Although tearing the gun all the way down will take a bit more time then the Etha 2.

Thanks! Its "better" yes. But for me I don't really need or use the OLED screen that often, so I'm fine without it. The Pro does feel a lot better in my hands though. I think I would go Pro just because of the feel.

Nothing. I feel that these guns are great as is. I feel that most of the upgrades that have been made for the Mini or Axe are not really worth the money. There are a few neat products by Nummech that are worth it but only if you are trying to fix something you don't like about the Axe.

Bradley Aydell shocker has almost no kick at all, at least that you can feel. i own one, and i'd say definitely go with the shocker if you have the money. much smoother, lighter, and quieter shooting marker. but if you don't have the budget, go with the axe, still a great gun for the price

Justin Wolfe yea I really like the look of it and how skinny it is. I have an axe right now and the grip on it just seems so wide to my big hands. Plus I've never seen a marker that really "kicked". The kick can be controlled if your a bigger guy like me lol
