Before the establishment of the State of Israel there were several hundred thousand people in Palestine, 2/3 Arabs and 1/3 Jews. There was no state defined and there was British rule and 90% of the area was not inhabited. Palestine was empty and there was tension between Jews and Arabs who would control the territory after the British leave. The United Nations decided to divide Palestine into two states, one for Jews and one for Arabs, according to the UN resolution. Where there would be a large Palestinian population would be Palestine and where there would be a large population of Jews would be Israel and not have to move anyone from his home. The Jews accepted the proposal and the Arabs objected and began the war and the Jews won and expanded their territory, and every war that the Arabs started began with the conquest of more territories by the Jews. In short, the Arabs are always trying to throw the Israelis into the sea and end up eating shit.

The IDF presence is minimal and the Palestinians fear their own corrupt police far more than the Israeli soldiers. The Palestinian spokespeople talk about atrocities but can never name one. Arabs in Palestinian towns have higher life expectancies than in almost any Arab country. Palestinian spokespeople complain about checkpoints but there are actually very few except to cross into Israel, where people are checked for weapons and ID. That is nobody's propaganda. That is what I saw. So perhaps it is you who have been fooled by propaganda?

Israelis are not an invented people. The "Kingdom of Israel" was a kingdom in Levant that existed roughly from 930 BCE until 720 BCE. There was also the Kingdom of Judah which we have archeological evidence of dating to 10th century BCE, and whose capital arose to be the city of Jerusalem. Jerusalem predates the Kingdom of Judah and can be traced back to the early Canaanite period, around 2400 BCE. This is archeological history, not zionism. Zionists however stole their chance of sovereignty by ethnic cleansing and destroying 480 Palestinian villages when Israel claimed Independence. In the end, yes Palestine is very much a country and a nation but they are not sovereign as the two requirements of sovereignty (Legitimacy from other states, and autonomy of their borders) as its lands are currently under a military occupation under Israel.
