That was such a great idea to have the girls go thru the house, room by room, saying what their favorite thing in each had been. It gave them closure, and a positive spin on saying good-bye.

It's always bitter-sweet when you leave a home behind that you lived in for many years, but there is something to be said about the excitement an anticipation of a new beginning. Hope the next 2 months fly by and you are in your forever home soon, beginning a wonderful new chapter in your lives! Praying that this waiting period will be a positive experience of family bonding.🙂

I got teary watching this. When I was 7 months pregnant we sold my parents home( they both passed away). I remember at closing, I was fine until we handed over the keys. This was my childhood home and the memories came flooding back. I cried so hard the realtor and the buyer were so afraid I would go into pre term labor. It's funny now,but you realize a house is much more than walls and a roof,it's the memories that make it. I wish you the best of luck in your new home and look forward to see all that you do there!

I could feel all the emotion you guys are going through. We have lived in the same 4 bedroom home since we got married and our kids have only known this home and so when we do decide to downsize to a bungalow when the kids all move out and settle into their own homes, it will be tough. My oldest is almost 21 and so there are lots of memories here not only family moments, family holiday gatherings but also all the reno's and upgrades that we have made to make this a truly beautiful home that is all our own. God bless

We sold our house in Florida to move to Texas years ago. There was a 2 week between closings so we were "homeless". Difference we have family but we have 10 kids so no one would take us in. We stayed at a hotel room (at the time we had 6 kids still at home and I was pregnant with our 9th. Like 8+ months. Other 2 kids were adults and hadn't gotten pregnant with #10). We all got along and it brought us closer as a unit. God is so good to us! Enjoy the hard times along with the good.

Congrats y’all! Just a tip for anyone that may be reading this or you on your next home if you end up in a similar situation, you can make your move out date contingent on your move in date of your new home and just write it into the contract within reason. My family just did this. Apologies if you already knew this and perhaps it didn’t work out that way for some reason. Another option is essentially renting from the new owner until you can move in the new place but obviously they have to be in a position for this to work for them. Looking forward to watching your family grow into your new home! With love from Texas.

Hi Kristen and FAMILY ! You did so good saying goodbye. 💛💛💛💛💛🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💛💛💛💛💛 I’m sure some more tears will come. Not easy with little ones moving from place to place even if it is family members … 2 months is a long time for little minds. Prayers for THEM!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I moved out of my family home when I got married at age 20 and then moved out of the home my husband and girls lived in for 28 years … only to move BACK into my family home. There were no sad feelings for me …I know that sounds cold to have no feelings for that home…but we had been broken into when our oldest girl was a Senior in High School. It was such a horrific feeling to have your household items, clothing, entertainment items, collections, my husband’s guns stolen and walk into a destroyed home, furniture turned over, windows broken…. Everything trashed on a cold snowy January day. The wind chill was 35 BELOW that year on that day. All feelings of security, happiness, memories where gone that moment. Anything I had for that house felt like it had been raped and beaten up. I never felt safe again in that home. Sooooo moving back in to my family home ( although the reason were even more sorrowful than the break in… the death of my much loved Dad..and a Mother who was also dying with cancer and needed 24/7 care ) my soul felt safe, ready to be home, ready to love my Mother everyday and care for her. I think moving out of THIS HOME… would / will definitely be hard to me…the tears would be there! Many, many incredible memories here… from childhood to all the ones made with our older granddaughters and now with our little grandkids ( they range from 19 years old ..down to 3 years old! Even though our daughters are 2 years apart…the younger didn’t get pregnant until she was late 30’s… God PROVIDES our needs on His time …Amen? ) She is a crazy Momma at 42 ! But SO THANKFUL to have those little ones ! 🙏🙏 Sorry for the long comment… but my heart hurts for those leaving a home and going to a new when I know “feelings are attached” to a home. Just that my feeling were opposite… I was relieved to be back home. So prayers will be prayed for you and Josh on all the stress of living in different places and comforting little ones. Prayers for ALL PAPER WORK AND WORKERS to be able to do what you would like done…. Prayers simply for this transition to go well and as little tears cried as possible ! Been thinking about you and your family ! Know that I’m praying and praying for it all to be “GOOD” 💛💛🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💛💛
