I just can’t get over that beautiful beef broth you made, and to think it’s all made with veggie scraps and bones, it has to be way cheaper than buying it at the grocery store. I’m going to start keeping a scrap bag in the freezer so I can try making it. I bet it makes the best gravy! You were truly blessed by the sweet subscriber with the roasting appliance. Wow, so generous…😊 I love how you show us what is possible in our kitchen and that it’s really not so difficult. You’re the best!🎉💥⭐️ ❤-Brenda

How nice of someone to send you the gift card so you can get that amazing electric roaster. The sauce looks absolutely delicious. The rich color of the broth can't be found in the grocery store unless you pay $$$ for it. And you did it for free using scraps! I don't mind you mentioning your 100% seal rate on your jars. We're getting snow tonight into tomorrow evening. Kids get a snow day tomorrow so I don't have to set my alarm. Early weekend relaxation time.

What a nice gift! Tip.... add a good splash of apple cider vinegar to your stock and let it set for about 30 minutes before turning on the roaster. That pulls the good stuff from the bones and makes the broth even healthier. I love making my own vanilla extract too. I have been making for years. I have three 750ml. bottles going all the time. I let them go for a year before using because I have a stockpile. I have used vodka, bourbon and spiced rum. I won't use vodka again. The bourbon is good but the spiced rum is EXCELLENT!!!!!

I bought an electric roaster summer of 2022 to start canning broth…I ended up cooking our turkeys for thanksgiving in 2022&2023 in it and WOW. Quick, easy, juicy. I make all my broth in it now. Turn it on and let it cook 24-36 hours. Apple cider vinegar definitely helps!

Thanks for reminding me that I have vanilla that needs to be shaken. I forget about it.... I too am enjoying snow days.

What a wonderful gift! And you made a great choice in the roaster. The bone broth and spaghetti sauce turned out beautiful! I made vanilla extract once with bourbon and, to me it tasted like vanilla-flavored bourbon, so I just stick with vodka. A friend of mine used Captain Morgan (spiced rum) and it was OK, but, for me, it would have limited uses ( banana bread, oatmeal cookies, spice cake, etc.)

Looks like an awesome fun, productive day! I have vanilla going also for the first time. I also started coffee extract and then in the Spring when my herbs are green again, I'm going to make some mint extract. You are right, that broth color was great! So glad you were able to get a roaster. It is great for bigger amounts of things.

Hi Tamara. Broth and spag sauce looked amazing. We like a smooth sauce too without skins and seeds. Let us know which vanilla extract you liked better--with vodka or bourbon. Making it is on my bucket list for this year and curious which you think is best. Hugs.

Loved your video today. I have a couple questions where do you purchase your vanilla sticks? A does the vodka or whiskey need to have a flavor to it when making the vanilla? With the cost of real vanilla I’d love to try making it myself

I get my vanilla beans on amazon. I have them linked in my amazon store front. In my description box. You are adding the flavor to the alcohol. Adding the vanilla beans and letting it sit for 6 months it makes vanilla extract!

Some times they do and sometimes they don’t. Just depends on how much fat is in it. It doesn’t bother me if it does. This batch had barely anything on top after cooled.
