I really enjoyed the enthusiasm you had in this video, I just started to help test RE2 yesterday. While I'm doing the scenario play through I've been trying to upgrade some of the Skaar designs and while I like all of the added parted of RE2, there are some difficulties in doing an upgrade vs new design. CPU in particular needs some playing with for me. I hope the Skaar can get some love in your new creations, love you builds! Thanks so much!

Glad you like the SSM! I had a hoot retrofitting it. New miner looks great, but I agree with the comments that it needs some gats. Sounds like you're reworking it. Just be sure to clear the pivot on it before you release it, so it doesn't pop out of the ground while mining!

Your SV driller would function the very same way with 4 drills instead of 6 Jrandall, try spacing the drills progressively further from one another until you find the ideal spread with the fewest possible drills, but I know 4 will work with those dimensions. Neat Cv build, reminds me of the Ceberus with it's legs, good show.

I can't speak for everyone but can tell you I personally hope you will put this build up on the Workshop. I love your builds. I can play EGS-RE fairly well, but I suck at building.

This requires Advanced Commercial Constructor to build, which is the RE1 constructor. Possible to loot from POIs, but would be less hassle to have the new RE2 advanced constructor in it (or neither for compatibility).

I remember you once said that any starter CV you build should be weighed against the Wayfarer. I like the idea and, I wonder what you think about HV/SV modular creations intended to dock in specific locations on a CV? These would be external docking locations as well as internal docking ports designed to tuck the creation away in the CV. As such, they can probably afford to be funny lookin' like a piece of the ship, and might be fun. I think some people have done this, e.g., escape pods, but I wonder how that may be expanded.

Copper ore is the heaviest ore per volume in the game, so that's the best to test (unless you're a madlad and want to use voidium)

in my experience a small mining SV like that needs at least a couple of gatling guns for defense. having no way to deal with drones is gonna greatly limit what this vessel can do, practically.

Agreed. The SV miner is a work of form and function but if you want to take it to a starter moon you’ll need at least one Gatling gun to handle the drones hovering over ores.

Good point. The problem is at tier 1 a gatling gun or any turret is 1000 CPU and you only have 6000 to work with. So, maybe a 2-4 drill miner with a little less storage and thrust. I will mess with this and see if I can up with something that could at least have 1 weapon. Or, make a little bigger version you can add a basic core in and upgrade. And thanks again!

I can see why you do prefer the large generator on the CV over the advanced gen, from a building perspective. But you are wasting a huge amount of cpu there. A single Adv. Generator will give you the same power as your 4 large generators. At half the CPU cost. Thats 50.000k CPU you are giving up there for the smaller form factor.

Good point. I really need to look at the numbers some more. The biggest issue I have is the ship has very limited room for an advanced generator. I do believe to get everything right I would need to just make a brand new ship designed to hold some larger parts or get rid of the farm for more engineering space. And thanks again!
