I have love this song and so do my kids. And my husband and I taught our girls to keep your minds open to judge and definitely don't be a sheep. Be a wolf be a leader and be your self. And don't worry about what others think as long as your happy. Then I also mentioned that if there was any bullying, they would get an old fashioned spanking, and since I have 3 girls we taught them the 7 B's books before boys because boys bring babies. Then I taught them reach for the sky bend down touch your toes if anything shows go change your clothes.

I was 12 years old when this came out and it blew my mind. Coming from a military family, I felt color blind most of the time. Realizing that others were not, bothered me so these lyrics really brought it home and became my go-to song of choice for ignorant friends. I’ve said more than a few times… Prejudice, wrote a song about it, wanna hear it, here it go, FREE YOUR MIND and the rest will follow, be color blind, don’t be so shallow.
