Dawn killed this song. This song will forever be my favorite En Vogue song. Dawn's final single with the group and their biggest hit!!!!

I remember when dawn left en vogue and then shortly after that she went to work with the supergroup "The firm" and put out their first single called "Firm Biz" and the album did okay but it didn't sell like it was suppose to and after that album didn't seek much success she linked up with Raphael saddiq and his group "Lucy Pearl" and went on to have better success then what she did when she was dealing with the firm.

@@jarellbrown6974 The Firm was forgettable, but I always wondered why Lucy Pearl was a one off project. Bought and loved that album. Would've loved to see Dawn do an entire project executive produced by Raphael Saadiq. I think that could've been special.
@jarellbrown69742 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelBrown-ti1un that would be very special if they ever made that happen and Lucy Pearl was a great group and I wish they could of went further and Raphael saddiq is a musical genius and I had brought the firm album as well and the production was fire but I feel like where they went wrong with that project is that it wasn't promoted correctly then they possibly tried to come back together again and make another firm album when it was suppose to be in the works but it just never happen due to every ones busy schedule but Lucy Pearl was definitely way more successful than the firm ever was.

This channel is like a treasure trove of background stories. Interesting to see how close we all came, due to industry politics/intra-group dynamics, that this classic song almost never came to be. I never bought the Set if Off soundtrack to see song credits, so I had no idea Organized Noize produced this one. The Dungeon Family was all rap, but it would've been very interesting to see Organized Noize executive produce some r&b projects during that era. I think Joi was officially part of that crew, but iono if ON produced her music or not.

When EnVogue dropped THIS song right after the Funky Divas cd AND smooth funky ass "Runaway Love" you knew something huge and awesome was getting ready to happen for them. So to hear shortly after that Dawn left it was like WTF?!! That was catastrophic and rather dumb. I know her supporters are going to start arguing about the two cents, Terry and denny, and dawn singing all the hits but I don't care. She should not have left.
