This is amazing! I love how different the two characters are and how it takes a near death experience for the skier to have a quiet reflective moment. Very well done!

What's so incredible to me is that he has a near death experience with the avalanche but then just laughs it off. It takes another person's complete indifference of his life to really hit the point home and make him think...
@storyslice1937
@storyslice1937 2 жыл бұрын
What's interesting is he literally just had a near death experience with the avalanche, and he jumped up and treated it like it was nothing. He needed reality to stare him in the face before he really appreciated it.

OMG I wish my HS had animation classes! Well, I was part of a communications technology class where we mainly worked on video production in adobe premeire, Photoshop, and illustrator. My teacher used to be an animator and then he became a teacher so I sometimes went to him. He actually lent me the animation survival kit.

I like how there were subtle shots to the deer to make you notice it, but not enough to deem it as relevant as the skier or the hunter. I was surprised to see that's actually who the prey was. You did a great job of directing my attention to where it needed to be.

I have but only one criticism. Ski-tourist survives snow avalanche and doesn't make anything out of this but one arrow makes him shock. That's a little out of character to face one death and be ok(because of this he seems fearless), but another makes him shock. Besides great animation.

I love this! Great animation and really good direction too! I like the contrast between the worlds--death defying and death personified, loud and silent, reckless and ritualistic. I like how the visual promotes a lot of subtext like when the hunter disappeared behind the trees, he didn't literally disappear or hide, it's just how stealthy he's being, as if he's not there. And how the skier causes chaos around him while the hunter thrives in silence and peace. And when they encountered each other, it's almost like a near death experience showing the skier that not everything is about him and how gentle death can be. Sorry I'm rambling! It's just so good, it's like an existential thesis you visualised in 2 and a half minutes hahaha. Btw super great job in "Hey Tim" by Sam Kolder! I bet you'll make it really far and I'm so excited for you!
