The reason why the Steven Universe Future series was cut short was because of insufficient funds after they planned Garnet's wedding. Apparently, a bunch of countries despised the idea of having 2 gems of the same gender get married. After the wedding episode, they funded a movie for Steven Universe, and from there, she asked for a few more episodes to talk about the diamond days, but since she ran out of funds, they ended up rushing the series short and thus canceling the show. blame the 200+ homophobic countries who stopped their funding for 1 small thing. Rebecca risked the show because it was her dream to finally work on the wedding, and if they didn't get the wedding, she would leave the show and cancel it without ending it properly. She even mentioned that she has drawings of Ruby and Sapphire making out that she won't show because of the public feud.

Like you just made 1/4 of an episode long clip that looks exactly like something that would take an entire team, they could put you in any position there and you would be able to do it just fine. if you continue lke this you are going to get hired somewhere 100%, keep up the amazing work!

The SU crew had to deal with budget cost and saving on animation all of the time unless it was rare and they had geust animators, like from studio trigger

When you animate for a show for tv/online and getting paid for it, you don't get the same freedom , trust me knowing people who work in the intrustity its not as easy as you may think, if you dont believe me just look up some of the animators working on several shows like SU and then look up their own animation portfoio (stuff they did in their own free time) Rugar's animation stuff is like night and day compared to Steven Universe

@Death Is here I read the artbook and interviews of people working on Steven Univese and the show was constantly being put down and put on pressure for 2 reasons 1: the Glbt content in the show, the Sapphire and Ruby wedding was the final straw for some of the excutes in CN and they clashed the budget and time-episodes of the crew, which resulted into a rush ending for the first era and a way shorter season for Future. After the gay wedding episode the show was banned in several places and countries due to homophobia which sadly made CN take out their frustrations on the show 2: CN was never rest-assured with SU , the crew would often find out they had less episodes to do this x and b when it was the last minite, while the show was succesful the upper mangement team didn't care because they couldn't profit from the show trough merch. (they believed the fans wouldn't buy toys and merch of the show, which is pretty silly consider how some of SU only merch that came out are seeked after) Funny you mention it because season 1 was my least favorite season lmao i thought it got better as seasons passed and im used to off-model from shows unless its the Simpsons and Family Guy who just re-use several models for every episode

I'm glad someone said it! Everything we didn't see in the original series, the movie, games, or books! Give Steven his break and shift the POV to the gems either Crystal or Homeworld aligned, it'd be so interesting to see what happened during and pre-war. However a few questions still stand, who created White since she's the progenitor of gem kind? Do gems have any competition in the galaxy in terms of domain expansion? (seeing as to how their ships have weaponry) And next, what's going on with Steven out of the picture?

OMG besides a flawless execution of the animation in this entire clip, there are tons of details that worth be reckon with 1.- Dialogues, I've never seen actual dialogues in any of these kind of fanmade videos, it was a NEAT addition 2.- Arrangement of MANY canon events, Hessonite's role in the war (Save the Light game), Lapis's unrecognition and imprisonment, Nephrite's crew look (as seen in Future), dialogue consistency with the series (Legs from here to Homeworld) 3.- Characters, many characters are seen here, besides the already mentioned, we have Snowflake Obsidian, Topazes, Amethysts, Jaspers, Rubies, Aquamarines, the gear-dress gems of the ball and the Jades (by looking at her dress-style). We EVEN have a look at some later-on corrupted gems that we never saw healed, the Desert Glass, the Slinker, and a blue one I just couldn't recognize (but I bet has a resemblance on the series since you wouldn't just invent a character out of nowhere) Just, AMAZING I consider this more canon than many episodes of the series EDIT: Searching I found out that the blue goblin-like uncorrupted gem is meant to be the design of the Invisible monster*

This was so sad because I realized that, in the episode where yellow and blue tried to heal her she said "no please no, we're all gonna be" When yellow tried to heal her, she was very aggressive and looked like she was fighting someone. And when blue tried to heal her, she kept crying and crying and saying "no please no, we're all gonna be". And because this is the saddest moment of her entire existance, that's why she's saying those exact words from the past because the sad feeling is too strong.

So many details that appear in flashbacks used in the series accumulated in a single short video where everything connects with such quality, made entirely by a fan. We have the chaos of war, Gems fighting for what they believe in or following orders, while others just run for their lives. Lapis being puffed by "our" Bismuth, being placed in a mirror and cracked during the desperation of the fugitives, an escape that Nephrite and other corrupted Gems participated in, such as Desert Glass and Chrysocola. Rose, Pearl and Garnet fighting, but stopping because they noticed the Diamonds' attack. The Diamonds clearly shaken by Pink's death. Blue already has her crying marks, but with hatred for the planet that shattered her little one. Yellow is unsympathetic as always, but clearly suffering from the loss. And White without his devilish smile, with pure disgust for everyone who was being punished, because she still knew Pink was alive. But the best part is the connection to the games. If u look closely at the start u see snowflake obsidian, a aquamarine with a star in her hair,hessonite's prism, roses scabbard our sapphires ruby gaurds fused ,BISMUTH WITH THE DIAMOND SYMBOL AND ANOTHER GEM WAITING TO PUT LAPIS IN THE MIRROR, AND EVEN THE UNCORRUPTED GEMS FROM A SU ART BOOK WITH DESERT GLASS AND ANOTHER GEM I CANT REMEMBER, AND ALSO THE SLINKER, AND I THINK IT WAS JASPER THAT CRACKED LAPIS, AND THE NO NO WE'RE ALL GONNA BE, AND THE WHOLE COLOR PALLET IS IDENTICAL TO PEARL'S FLASHBACK DURING THE WAR ALL IN THE STRAWBERRY BATTLEFIELD TL;DR I LOVE THIS)
