I'm glad someone said it! Everything we didn't see in the original series, the movie, games, or books! Give Steven his break and shift the POV to the gems either Crystal or Homeworld aligned, it'd be so interesting to see what happened during and pre-war. However a few questions still stand, who created White since she's the progenitor of gem kind? Do gems have any competition in the galaxy in terms of domain expansion? (seeing as to how their ships have weaponry) And next, what's going on with Steven out of the picture?

The reason why the Steven Universe Future series was cut short was because of insufficient funds after they planned Garnet's wedding. Apparently, a bunch of countries despised the idea of having 2 gems of the same gender get married. After the wedding episode, they funded a movie for Steven Universe, and from there, she asked for a few more episodes to talk about the diamond days, but since she ran out of funds, they ended up rushing the series short and thus canceling the show. blame the 200+ homophobic countries who stopped their funding for 1 small thing. Rebecca risked the show because it was her dream to finally work on the wedding, and if they didn't get the wedding, she would leave the show and cancel it without ending it properly. She even mentioned that she has drawings of Ruby and Sapphire making out that she won't show because of the public feud.

OMG besides a flawless execution of the animation in this entire clip, there are tons of details that worth be reckon with 1.- Dialogues, I've never seen actual dialogues in any of these kind of fanmade videos, it was a NEAT addition 2.- Arrangement of MANY canon events, Hessonite's role in the war (Save the Light game), Lapis's unrecognition and imprisonment, Nephrite's crew look (as seen in Future), dialogue consistency with the series (Legs from here to Homeworld) 3.- Characters, many characters are seen here, besides the already mentioned, we have Snowflake Obsidian, Topazes, Amethysts, Jaspers, Rubies, Aquamarines, the gear-dress gems of the ball and the Jades (by looking at her dress-style). We EVEN have a look at some later-on corrupted gems that we never saw healed, the Desert Glass, the Slinker, and a blue one I just couldn't recognize (but I bet has a resemblance on the series since you wouldn't just invent a character out of nowhere) Just, AMAZING I consider this more canon than many episodes of the series EDIT: Searching I found out that the blue goblin-like uncorrupted gem is meant to be the design of the Invisible monster*

When you animate for a show for tv/online and getting paid for it, you don't get the same freedom , trust me knowing people who work in the intrustity its not as easy as you may think, if you dont believe me just look up some of the animators working on several shows like SU and then look up their own animation portfoio (stuff they did in their own free time) Rugar's animation stuff is like night and day compared to Steven Universe

@Death Is here I read the artbook and interviews of people working on Steven Univese and the show was constantly being put down and put on pressure for 2 reasons 1: the Glbt content in the show, the Sapphire and Ruby wedding was the final straw for some of the excutes in CN and they clashed the budget and time-episodes of the crew, which resulted into a rush ending for the first era and a way shorter season for Future. After the gay wedding episode the show was banned in several places and countries due to homophobia which sadly made CN take out their frustrations on the show 2: CN was never rest-assured with SU , the crew would often find out they had less episodes to do this x and b when it was the last minite, while the show was succesful the upper mangement team didn't care because they couldn't profit from the show trough merch. (they believed the fans wouldn't buy toys and merch of the show, which is pretty silly consider how some of SU only merch that came out are seeked after) Funny you mention it because season 1 was my least favorite season lmao i thought it got better as seasons passed and im used to off-model from shows unless its the Simpsons and Family Guy who just re-use several models for every episode

That was incredible, it was heart wrenching enough to hear Nephrite share the memory with Steven but this, this is just perfect. I also loved how you tied in Lapis and the gems in the video too. It was done so well and so fluid; we really get a good grasp of time in your video and just how quickly things really did happen. I love it! It's probably never going to happen but I would have loved if there was a small series that showed everything from the earliest time where the Diamonds were created, to Pink diamond's arrival on earth, the rebellion, the war and ending with something like this. The final moments before the diamonds attack. Yes, it's good that we got to see a lot of flashbacks along with shared stories (interpretations) but it really would have been something to have seen everything play out, and to see more of home world around that time too. It was a very different place back then, and I feel that we didn't really even explore it too much in the main series when finally allowed to see it. Anyway, this really is an incredible animation and I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon it!

This was so sad because I realized that, in the episode where yellow and blue tried to heal her she said "no please no, we're all gonna be" When yellow tried to heal her, she was very aggressive and looked like she was fighting someone. And because this is the saddest moment of her entire existance, that's why she's saying those exact words from the past because the sad feeling is too strong.

I LOVE that you added things like lapis being poofed and put in the mirror aswell as cracking her gem. I also like that you put rose protecting pearl and garnet from the diamond attack. And this makes so much more sense to the 'no please no we're all gonna be' words she said when they were uncorrupting her.

ARRUINARON LA VIDA DE NEFRITA Y DE OTRAS GEMAS!!!!!! :( ) Psta: Nunca entenderé por qué Nefrita no apareció en ningún episodio de Future :'( Su historia es "genial" (En comillas porque también es triste), es amiga de Steven (Y lo siguen siendo, gracias dibujo en la refri de Steven :') ) y... ella pudo haberlo ayudado en su estado de monstruo (Devolverle el favor, el momento que más esperaba en Future), además que aún no vimos mucho de Nefrita en sí, más la vimos como "Centi, la gema alegrona, inocente, etc." pero yo más esperaba ver a "Nefrita, la gema capitana y strongminded" aunque sea en un epi (Estoy segura que su personalidad cambió un poco, recordemos que estuvo del lado del Planeta Madre y la ubicación de su gema, no digo que no tenga ese lado alegre, sólo talvez lo tenga oculto...).
