Technically it is accurate- Cwood had never missed the finals 4 years in a row until 2014/5/6/7. By any reasonable assessment though it is unfair to Bucks.

With the win against Adelaide and the footage of Bucks congratulating his boys at the changerooms, I thought he may stay on. He played it well. Early in the year he made peace with the possibility of no longer being coach. It was like he was ready to do new things. He got his team to be a bit more competitive, scored a win, and then bowed out.

Always struck me as a bit of a discount Damien Hardwick tbh. Collingwood really bungled the whole succession plan. As soon as his #1 fan and lover Eddie left, I think he was on borrowed time.. I reckon Nathan will coach another club one day and have more success. He is a smart man who speaks well.

Bucks was a good player, nearly a premiership coach, but not much sympathy from a Brisbane supporter when he left our club to increase his chances of winning a premiership. Ironic that we beat the Pies with Bucks as captain in 2002, 2003.

I think after hearing Matthews talking about something behind the scenes (management- board) being seriously wrong - makes me think maybe Bucks is getting out at the right time... I completely agree with you mate, I’m a freo supporter, but quite new to the game (a kiwi that picked up the game about ten years ago) and I saw the way that the west media got Lyon sacked, to be fair, I thought it was time for him to go, but I’ve been interested in the bucks story since the start of the year and was thinking ‘which headline would screw him over over the most and put too much pressure on him’ it’s a shame..

Worst period in Magpies’ history? Yeah… no… They didn’t go to finals from 1994 to 2002. They also went 32 years with a flag and lost eight Grand Finals including three of the most memorable GFs in VFL/AFL history. 1964 lost to Melbourne by four points. 1966 lost to St. Kilda by a solitary point. 1970 one of the all time great GFs up by 44 points and lose by less than two goals. 1979 lost by five points against Carlton. I could go on but I’m gonna stop.
