Ze_eTPlays First of all, this was four days ago. A lot happened in four days, info was revealed, I learned new things. Overall, I’ve learned that it is KZbin’s fault for all of this happening. (I will refer to KZbin and google as separate entities for these statements.) however, the parents of the children watching KZbin are the ones that complained even though KZbin specifically says in their ToS (Article 12 I believe) you must be 13 or older. The only reason KZbin lost the case against coppa is because of the situation with kid friendly content a while back. Another way KZbin screwed up was by not adding a “Mixed audience” option. The FTC specifically said they can have a mixed audience, and what does KZbin do? “Oh! More money for us if we don’t!” All in all KZbin’s fault that KZbinrs are losing money, and the parents fault for making this happen in the first place.

The problem with youtube tracking if a user is a kid is: 1. That would require collecting their info which would defeat the purpose of trying to not track them. 2. If they get just a small group of kids wrong, and the FTC finds out, they will get sued hard. 3. If an adult is marked as kids, they won’t be able to get the content they wan’t and they won’t be able to find products that they might want from KZbin Ads. 4. Just like with videos, they are gonna have to ask users if they are kids, and trust me, they are gonna lie.

COPPA on youtube is a serious issue for everyone, the viewers and makers and your ruining the platform with COPPA. So instead of making it about channels and videos, make it for accounts. If the account is under 13, then do all that to them. If they are 13+, then they should be able to use youtube the same as it is. Just my opinion and many others opinions. That’s what I said BOOM.
