I minimally upgraded my Ender 3v2. I did Chep’s Capricorn upgrade (just a section in the hotend) and bed springs. I ran the stock firmware for a few months before changing to klipper using fluiddpi. I absolutely recommend klipper. You can print directly from cura using the octoprint plugin. I didn’t add ABL until I was running klipper. I’m still using the glass bed with hairspray.
@NerdvanaCustomCreations2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, bed springs would be the least I would do. The Ender 3v2 is pretty good from the start, most other upgrades are not a necessity but some do help with overall print quality. Each machine has got its own quarks, some might need more upgrades than others to perform well but that all depends on the machine and person of course. I’m playing with kipper now and ABL is being added soon. Thanks for watching!

Do NOT hit the glass Plate with alcohol... I guess that's the whole reason why everyone says they're crap. You'll destroy the coating. Just use hot water and maybe a little soap to clean. Works fantastic for me, no adhesion problems whatsoever, and once the plate is cooled to room temp, prints basically pop off by themselves.
@NerdvanaCustomCreations Жыл бұрын
I have been using alcohol on all my Enders, some are still using the glass plates they came with and are still going strong. You have a solid point though, thanks for the feedback and tip. Thanks for watching!!

I am finally replacing the extruder on my pros, the arm never broke but the base did. one printer had the brass insert the bowden tube attaches to explode out of the front of the printer mid print. The second printer wore the teeth off the hob gear heh. They lasted a year and a half of heavy use, so they were due to die lol. I am replacing them with some ezr struders I found on clearance.
@NerdvanaCustomCreations Жыл бұрын

Before buying the metal extruder kit please check your stepper motor gear. If it is a press fit gear then you can't use the kit without replacing the motor too. Creality are notorious for swapping out components to cut costs and avoid delays due to supply issues. Power supply is another component often not the "normal" part.
@NerdvanaCustomCreations2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Creality is notorious for this! Very good point but you do not need to swap motors to use the kit. If you have a little mechanical experience and a dremel you can use the existing motor, I’ve had to do it on 2 of my other printers. 🤔 I might need to do a video on it, thanks for the input and for watching!

In the course of a year. I went thru at least 4 endstop switches working at RANDOM. Mesh Level will not work for that. I also ruined a few beds. In the order of $150. So go with auto Level. A CR Touch can be found on aliexpress for about $22. Great investment compared to $150 lost in switches and beds. The rest of the upgrades are just what people need.
@NerdvanaCustomCreations2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are completely right Mesh bed level will not work for that 😬 that sounds rough. I would recommend auto bed level over mesh bed level any day but I wanted to provide a easy/free alternative. I love my CR touch and EZBL that I have installed on other machines and wouldn’t trade them for anything. Thanks for your input, comment and of course thanks for watching! 🤙🏼

I never understood why people keep feeding their filament sideways into the filament stepper motor unit. Especially if you have direct drive, why would you not just feed it from the top straight in?
@NerdvanaCustomCreations Жыл бұрын
With direct drive especially, I would feed it for the top. I guess it’s just a matter of preference or maybe just laziness 😆. Either way thanks for watching!

I only need to relevel if I switch out nozzles on my ender 3 version1, but most of the time its still close to spot on because I set it up so the heatbrake butts up tight up against the nozzle and the shoulders of the nozzle rest on the bottom of the heater block so with the same nozzle the hight never changes, but i do check with a strip of paper by 'selecting level corners every once in a while but maybe I'm lucky but my early Ender3 seems to hold zero... but I dont have the stock mainboard I have the MKS with 2130's so maybe the reduction in vibration may have something to do with it...

What do people think of the Sprite Pro for the V2?
@NerdvanaCustomCreations Жыл бұрын
You know, I haven’t thought much about it till your comment. I looked at it and it’s specs and build look good but maybe overkill for a V2. I’ve done well with my extruder but would probably think about it in a different printer. That being said, if I had just one printer and could afford it (good or bad) I would go for it but is definitely overkill for a V2 IMHO. Thanks for watching!

@NerdvanaCustomCreations Жыл бұрын
It was a great printer for many before some of the newer machines, this was a while ago though. As with any technology, especially fast evolving tech like additive manufacturing, things become “garbage” rather quickly. I agree there are better options, most you have to pay to play but either way I appreciate your opinion and thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
