I don’t think footsteps should be a problem in outer space. Certainly footsteps are no problem at all on the International Space Station. Those chairs would look funny in outer space. Not to mention it would be pretty hard to decide exactly when is the “night shift” in outer space.

The "ambience" (no pun intended) of the Enterprise-D bridge (and rest of the ship) was so different from all the other ships / stations in the Trek Universe. While the other bridges all are gray or blue and somewhat dark with a futuristic military feel to it, the D was well-lit and with a bizarre yet comforting 5-star hotel feel to it. And that's one of things that made the show awesome :)

But there's no replicators on the bridge, at least I don't think so... they have a crew quarters ambient sound video that you could try sleeping to. I personally like to sleep to the engineering ambient sounds video, there's nothing like the gentle throbbing of the warp engine to help me fall asleep. I'm surprised engineers on duty in engineering don't fall asleep, heh.

@dsandoval9396
@dsandoval9396 3 жыл бұрын
@@sauceguy19 Well, no. It's like I'm saying it was bad in itself, but for a movie and not an episodic production I thought it could have been executed with a little more production value and gravitas. Basically, as a 2 hour episode it works, and it works great. But as a movie, a feature film, I found it lacking. My major gripe is about production value of the sets. They look like they belong in a TV episode, not the big screen. Specifically, in the scenes of the village of the planet. It looked as if it was a set, made to look like a town, but it doesn't look _lived in._ The bark and gravel on the roads look too neat, as if it was _just_ laid down but hasn't been used. Same goes for the stone structures and buildings. They look as if the were _just made_ because you don't (at least I don't) see any real wear and tear on the objects that happens naturally over time by nature and people when something has been there for years. The production sets look like production sets to me, not like something that has in fact been lived in. But hey, if people like it then great, I'm happy for them, I am. I like it too, but as a two hour episode, not a movie. And I understand that maybe there were time constraints as mostly happens, I just think that they could've used more time in production design. And also, the plot seemed self contained to that planet. Like no real impact across the galaxy, like most episodes of ST.

Love this! I work over night in an office/dispatch center, and the tedium kills me sometimes. This makes it easy to imagine that I am working the night shift on the bridge of a starship. Two things though. Do I hear a transporter in the background from time to time? Site to Site transport to/from the bridge? Second thing, That incoming hail. I wish there was some chatter to go with the ambiance. I know it is on a loop, but an unanswered hail? lol. Worf would never be that inefficient.

This is perfect. Back in 2004, I was lucky enough to be able to go through Star Trek: The Experience and the sound effects I heard while standing on the Bridge was just this. For anyone who isn't familiar with it, Star Trek: The Experience was a US$70 million permanent Star Trek-themed attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It literally simulated you getting beamed on board the Enterprise D and I got to go from the Transporter Room to a turbolift and onto the Bridge to walk around. There's a great write-up in Wikipedia on the Experience. It's shut down and dismantled now but while it lasted, it was breath-taking; I'm so glad I lived long enough to see it. This video brings back such wonderful memories of it. Thank you.
