This movie changed my life forever, bar none, I kid not! I couldn't believe it when I learned that Cal was Bea's IF all along. Back when I first saw this movie, it wasn't until the scene where Bea discovers Cal's apartment to actually be the building's storage room that I realized that Cal was actually an IF. I loved this movie so much that I ended up seeing it 12 times during the time it was in theaters. I think while the movie is about imaginary friends reuniting with their now grown-up kids, the moral of the movie is that you're never too old to have an imaginary friend. It also made me realize that I have an IF of my own that I never even knew I had as a kid, and I'm currently writing a story about my IF. This whole movie inspired me like nothing else that I've ever seen in my lifetime.

I came up with a theory on who the ghost IF's creator was: A child whose family was really into acting, and gave him or her an appreciation for the works of Shakespeare. I mean, it's an imaginary friend who is a ghost, wears a crown, and speaks like a classically- trained Shakespearean actor. As anyone familiar with the play 'Hamlet' can tell you, Hamlet's late father in it, who was a king, appears to him as a ghost. At least, that's a theory I have.

Why were people so surprised at it I genuinely remember her talking about her IF being a human clown before
@markl232216 күн бұрын
That's called "foreshadowing" or a "clue". He doesn't look like a clown, but his costuming sort of does. His actions tend to be like a circus performer, but his attitude is world weary. She did say her if was a clown, but she also didn't remember much more than that. The whole movie revolves around the theme of her trying to be a grown up, while her inner self still yearns to be a child, and the reality of that is in the imagination. So, did I know he was the clown she mentioned? No. Did others? Yes. And some were teetering back and forth. That's what made this movie fun.

When I turned on this movie for the first time upon finding it on Prime Video, I definitely did not get the fast ride and colorful flood of the senses that I anticipated, mostly because the fact that John Krasinski wrote and directed it had slipped my mind. As a cinema snob who prefers nuance to mindless ho hum, I will honestly say that what I got was far better. It's a story about imaginary friends wanting to be seen again, but it's also about holding onto the memories of quieter times so the harder times become easier to roll with.
