To the people who do not know; this race was the winner of the community 'Race Design' competition. Amplitude made a race based on whichever community made design won. Now that's what I call 'involving the community'! I was sceptical when I saw that the winner was just some tree people. I thought 'Ents in space' but I'm loving the look of them. Great way to involve the community.

For example, the cravers conquer and enslave because that's what their genetics and programming demand, to them the ultimate good for them is to focus on their own people and consume weaker ones to further their goals. The Vodyani are basically Space vampires, but follow a form of "goodness" which is the teachings of the church that worships the endless.

Well, thats what your wording boils down to in a human perspective, but anyways, lets say i'm wrong with my simplification. Would you prefere "Quantity>Quality"? Though quality in your wording is completly ignored - so its more like "the more Quantity ("successes"), the better",- which makes your definition invalid in the first place. You imply that your first "definition" is "good" while the second is "evil", which is only your point of view and i would challenge this. Your second scenario isn't evil, its just another scenario, you just describe it as evil because you think it would lead to a worse outcome than the first, which isn't necessarily the case.

I know they were community designed, but still Amplitude brought some work to them. Which makes me realize once more, I don't know if we realizes how strong Amplitude art direction is. Since my life started I've always considered Blizzard to be the High King of art direction with the most amazing and creative visuals in any of their universe, but Amplitude has became so good at this with the years ... United Empire, The Harmony, Vodyanis, Riftborns, all with ASTONISHING appearance and now this ! Amplitude and their community made spaceships that are actually trees, you'd have told me this a year ago I'd have laugh, but they managed to make it looks so good .... I really wish they'll live long and prosper because I want to see what's next. I want to see these sparks of genius in action for a long time !

Gilgak I think your both missing something here. The Unfallen are sentient plants. Philosophic plants yes, but plants none the less. Who knows the thought process of a plant? They seek to bring peace to the galaxy, but there are many ways to do so. Some may want cooperation, but others may eventually come to believe that peace can only be achieved through the new ways of the "Others". Through this strange new philosophy known as "War" And "Conquest". The Unfallen are ignorant to the truths of the universe. They will be corrupted by the galaxy like anyone else as they realize that their ways are unworkable with wider reality. Worse, their corruption will be the worst of all, for none are so dangerous as a villain who sincerely believes themselves to be the hero. When they march to war, it will not be in the name of glory or bloodlust, it will be to the song of peace and unity, and that is what makes them so potentially dangerous and so potentially tragic as well.

Locked in a cycle of natural Order their consciousness was monotone and just happen to be. They've simply lived with little care as to why it just is they can think or feel fire is rebirth to these unfallen and even death is just part of what is and they have never known anything else. this is their worldview isolated and onesided they have no need to question it. Then something upsets this order the cycle at threatend by a whole new concept death and mortality and the whole world view they knew collapsing infront of of their eyes forcing them to think, to rebuild, and in the process you discover who they are their flaws their strengths and out of that what must be done. Its quite poetic rly.
