Hello. Hello Jen, I’m your avid fan about saving thyroid, I have a question, I was diagnosed hyperthyroidism October 16, 2023 by endocrinologist my TSH level is 0.002, FT4 automated is 2.2 (normal range is 0.8-1.7) my FT3 automated is 469 (normal range is 222-383) all my antibodies are all normal TSI is

I'm guessing that maybe your uptake scan showed that your whole thyroid gland was overproducing thyroid hormone? If this is the case, then your uptake scan should show the whole gland as taking up the isotope, rather than just a "hot" spot or two.

I have 3 thyroid nodules.. 1 of them 2.8 cm and I would love to get this tag treatment. Do you know if insurance would cover this and if not how much does it cost today? 🙏🏾

Insurance doesn't always cover because there isn't a dedicated CPT code yet. But we are expecting one possibly next year! In the meantime, cash prices for RFA can vary dependent on location. Typically, the price can range from $5 to 9k in the US. Often, patients say they are grateful to have an alternative to surgery that avoids a lifelong need for thyroid medication.

Jen, when i am on antibiotics my nodules shrink significantly

Everyone is different. In my case, I had allergic reaction. Also, it was a fluoride based drug, which shuts down thyroid function. My thyroid likely swelled because it was trying to compensate. Additionally, my nodule hemorrhaged into itself as a result of the allergic reaction.
