Endwalker Benchmark Trailer REACTION | FFXIV

Hey! Benchmark Trailer is here. :)
For some reason there's a bit of blurring going on after I recorded this so I might have to check the recording settings on my OBS and do a few tests. If it's not a problem, through, I'll just leave it.
A lot of what I talked about is just my initial reactions and thoughts in the video. :')
I apologize if I sound worried about spoilers! I was trying to avoid story content as blind as possible lol.

Ysayeau!! That's so interesting that you mention being curious why we're changing to paladin! The video I was watching right before yours, was Bellular's recent video where they talk about references to older FF games! It's super interesting! :D

It could be a reference to FF4's protag Cecil who was a Dark Knight, who later became a Paladin and hero to his world. Maybe there will be a lot of FF4 content in this game, like how Shadowbringers had a lot of FF3 stuff, the crystal tower etc.

Yoshi P said the Cecil connection from a DRK to PLD was completely coincidental sadly, but he thought it was a cool coincidence :)

The reason PLD is the poster job for the expansion is because it's in reference to Final Fantasy IV, where the main character goes from a Dark Knight to a Paladin.

If you are consious about spoilers, I would NOT watch the "launch trailer" for Endwalker when it comes out either this week or next. The official Launch Trailers have a habit of containing spoilers.

@@merlecorey1688 I mean things like minfillia and such with the SHB launch trailer. Announcement trailers generally only introduce areas and characters, but "launch" trailers tend to spoil actual story elements.

@@Gwydion_Wolf Sorry, yes, I understood - I was being facetious and making a reference to the end of the ShB launch trailer, where they outright included the segment of the post-Qitana Ravel cutscene that uses the "eldest and most powerful of primals" line. That one hit me with an incredible combo of "They what now?" and "...why did I watch this before playing?" Your advice to *not* watch the launch trailer is extremely valuable. I was just trying to add a little humor to it.

So fun to watch this "with" you, so to speak. I feel the same way as you about Paladin: the few times I tank, I usually play DRK and I'm not very good at PLD at all, but I feel obligated to at least give it a shot, so who knows -- maybe I can learn how to PLD by launch lol.

paladin is by far the simplest and safest of the tanks :)

The reason why the Paladin is the poster boy, is because the theme for this expansion is Platinum.

As a fact,it was mentioned by Yoshi-P that change from DRK in Shadowbringers into a Paladin in Endwalker is totally influenced by FF4 and the inspiration they took from it for Endwalker

Close, those are Terminus Beasts, not voidsent. The ones you fought in the Amaurot dungeon. If I had to guess, those were the surviving conscripts and other soldiers fighting in the outskirts of Garlemald. I think they’re fighting behind you since you are the best fighter among them.

My guess would be that Zenos and Fandaniel are trying to destroy the world, and even the non-tempered Garleans realize that this includes Garlemald, so they are on your side.

Spoilers coming with launch trailer next week. People often say to sprout streamer not to watch any launch trailer but veterans watches them. It's a hypocrisy we all understand lol.
