I think there is a really interesting story being glossed over right now regarding this Hogwarts legacy stuff. I've checked out about 10 streamers who decided to stream the game and every single one of them decided to donate some percentage of proceeds of the stream to some trans charity as some defense for playing the game. This is essentially the same thing as paying protection money to the mob to me. Giving up a percentage of their income to the groups of people that they are scared will attack them for playing it in hopes of keeping them happy. I'm not really a Potter fan, but I watched a couple youtubers play some of the beginning of the game and I was really impressed by how good everything looked and how well it played. It just looked fun, the streamers were having fun, so I purchased it. About 20 hours in and I've been having a great time. It's a solid RPG and the combat system is actually very well done.

At 10 hours in I can say this game is astonishingly well made and executed and the way things are presented, "cutscenes" included, goes a long way to holding my interest, which I cannot say about the other recent action RPG "Forspoken", that has long, dull unskippable exposition dumps at beginning and end.

While one has a right to not play the game, impeding others, causing others to loose their jobs, harass them, WTF is wrong with these people?! My favorite thing about modern "journalism" is the fact that people who write and speak for a living don't know what words mean. A phobia is an irrational fear. Well Kotaku didn't get any review copies of the game and they whined on Twitter about it. Game devs and publishers are watching how these journos behave quite closely. I agree that harassing people is wrong, definitely something they shouldn't be doing. But you also have to realize that JK Rowling wants to take rights away from trans people. That affects them WAY more than some people making you cry on the internet, to be honest. I am against the hate mobbing people are doing to creators, obviously, but it does not affect you more than JK Rowling affects them. That still doesn't mean that it's the consumers fault for buying the game, the blame for that all falls on Rowling. SHE should be the one being hate mobbed, not the people playing the game. JK Rowling expressed a personal opinion which she has every right to do. She did not state she had any issues with people’s gender identity except that there are some women who might feel vulnerable in a bathroom with trans women. There are a lot of abusive men about, which is not to say that trans women are abusive as a group, but vulnerable women don’t know whether the trans woman using the bathroom is an abusive man and might feel threatened by it. It’s different for trans men because men generally do not feel threatened by trans men. Metroid Prime Remastered is a must since I've always wanted to try that game. Granted I don't know about all of the others transgressions attached to her; but what I do know is for that specific case she is not guilty of displaying "transphobic" expressions. From what I gather all she did was sympathise with someone who believes there should be an adjustment to jural protection for biological women. Then she tried to clear-out the misunderstanding by saying that, as much as she loves and respects trans, there is still a difference between biological women and the women at heart. A notion that could reflect to the rule the LGBTQ+ community has already established. In that "sex" is reference to what you were born into and "gender" is what you consider yourself to be. Plus the reality remains that biological women and transgender women each have their own, specific trials and tribulations. Being a gay man in his forties, I totally understand, sympathize and support my trans brothers and sisters fight for their basic human right and to be treated equally and with respect. What I don't agree with is how they are waging this fight. I am in no better position to understand this because my gay brothers and sisters fought so hard in the past so that I could lead a dignified life like the one I lead today where I don't have to hide and feel shame but these venomous and toxic social media echo chambers they are conducting this fight in with its mob mentality to get downright mean and nasty and employ guerilla-styled "cancel culture" tactics on anyone whose opinion doesn't line up with the mentality of the mobs, truly rubs me up the wrong way. In fact all these tactics are doing are pushing moderate and liberal people like myself further and further from their cause. At the end of the day, one attracts more bees with honey than with the vinegar they are currently spewing

"this time its more personal, the hate would be coming from people i care about" That right there. if people you care about would so easily turn on you. they never cared about you. you are just pawn to them. to be discarded as soon as your usefulness to them expires. they want allies and htey mean that in the strongest sense of the word. you are only an ally if you obey. they want you to be a mindless "Yes man" or "Yes Ma'am" the support they want is a one way street for only their benefit. they would hang their allies out to dry when ever the wing changes. caring is the basis of any friendship. its a two way street but these weirdos don't want friends. they want pawns
