Deathclaws never used to bother me beyond the "better reload just in case" mentality. That is, until fallout 4 on the hardest difficulty where I spawned in and got rushed by three and a huuuuuuge elite deathclaw. Ran for my character's life up a lighthouse thinking its tiny spiral stairs would protect me. I was, obviously, wrong and the deathclaw was so huge it glitched its way through the walls and the last thing my character saw was huge claws slashing through the circular walls all around me in some nightmare scenario. Definitely a lot more wary now.

Agreed ,those survival ,maxed difficulty Deathclaws from fallout 4 are damn scary they can just jump out of the ground and they throw cars to if there near them. Cazadors are pretty terrifying to💀☠New Vegas.

@@leafandryly Fighting The stormbird and thunderjaw are not that difficult even on the harder difficulties if you are using the right weapons. Plus they are avoidable until you get to a level where you are comfortable fighting them.

Mr Shakedown was terrifying. It even plays alarms at the start of the battle, which makes it even more intense, and he just destroys you with a few hits for most of the game. But, like every Yakuza game, my best friend was bikes lined up on the streets, so I would try to lure him to a bike, if I saw one.

The scariest moment was when I was going down stairs and didn't notice that Mr. Shakedown was following me and I was trapped. The only thing that save me was he glitch on the stairs and was going in circles. I had to restart the game and lost an hour of game time because I didn't save.

Any enemy that starts out pretty big but once you start to attack it, the rest of its body rises up out of the ground like an angler fish.

Rob literally just described my very own experience as well with that power armor and the deathclaw. I wasted my bullets because I thought it was too fun blasting the raiders away, then something just digs itself out of the ground and I just had to go back into that church to pray.

Horizon: Zero Dawn has a reputation for being quite forgiving on the difficulty front, but on its hardest mode nearly every encounter becomes a tense life-or-death struggle. This is never more true than when you encounter the Fireclaws in the 'Frozen Wilds' expansion: house-sized robotic bears with heavy armour, devastating fire attacks, and lightning-fast melee combat. Taking down even one of them usually consumed nearly all my ammo and medicine, which can take over an hour to gather and craft on ultra-hard mode. Even the slightest slip-up in combat virtually guaranteed swift, bloody and char-grilled failure. Exploring the wilds of Yellowstone gets very tense whenever you hear the music change and Aloy gasp "Fireclaw!" after realising she's close to one of these titans.

The Librarians from Metro. The thing is you can't even run away from them. The only thing you can do, or must do if you want to survive them, is to look them straight in the eyes while not moving a limb and not turning your back to them. You can only move once they go away.

@@nothanks6549 do yourself a favour and play Metro. Both Metro 2033 and Last Light are amazing games and really worth your time. Like I said, the atmosphere in those games is impeccable. The main character Artyom is an awesome, he conveys very realistic human emotions perfectly like fear and anxiety, but also loyalty and bravery. The enemies in this game are really unique as well, and there is a good variety of weapons with a good deal of customization and great gun play. Sorry for the long reply, I just really love these games :)

The original Tomb Raider, the T-Rex in The Lost Valley. I didn't know it was coming and I didn't bother to try to fight it the first time. I just turned and ran, ultimately getting chomped while trying to climb out of the area. Later, when I realized that Lara would auto-target the terrible lizard, I eventually took it down, but to this day I don't think I killed it. Instead, I believe it simply fell over from the sheer weight of all the bullets.

I walked the entire south west of the map in fallout 4 in a hazmat suit (i don't do power armor), killing every ghoul, radscorpion and deathclaw in my path. I have a 10mm pistol that does additional damage per shot, by the time the death claws reach me they're dead.

I used to be terrified of the SUV´s in Need For Speed Carbon. They always came in the oncoming lane and crashed right into you, bringing you to a complete stop. You then only had a few seconds to get going again before getting boxed in by police cars and getting busted.

Still love that game and I hope there aren't threshers in Borderlands 3!

The tonberry from final fantasy. First you think it's cute with it's little knife, like a throw away for that isn't much of a threat, then you start attacking. Freaking mosquito bites to this cute little monstrosity! Then, the little green bean creeps up to you and ever so slightly stabs you for an instant kill. My first encounter with that little snot taught me a lesson I'll never forget.

It is possible on fallout 4 to take down a deathclaw with three swipes. (Using vats or not) you need the grognak the barbarian outfit, the sacrificial blade. That does poison damage. And... Power armour. But even with that. Your natural response is to turn and leg it!!!

The most terrifying enemies I've enountered were in dead space. The wall-creatures that spit projectile-firing tentacles masses, and the 'conglomerate enemies', which looked sort of human but broke down to a bunch of smaller enemies after a few shots....and the bits moved around like spiders......

I did EXACTLY the same thing as Rob did in Fallout 4! Ended up smacking the death claw with a wrench (or something similar)! Decided to just restart the game from the beginning. Have learnt my lesson now.

Only one enemy for me. Poisonous headcrabs from the Half-Life series. They aren't the scariest looking enemies I've seen but every.single.time I hear their screeching noise I end up shutting down the game and promising myself to never play it again

One person that can turn me int a blubbering pile of fear-induced tears is Chris Walker.. I probably made it into the 2nd room of the asylum in Outlast, and that's when I nearly had a heart attack.. the "nope" factor of that game for me is incredibly high. Protip: If you play New Vegas and want to take on Deathclaws at early stages, just head to Sloan from Goodsprings, and from there directly north to Quarry Junction. There's great armour and a rail gun that you can use. Just run past the building with conveyor belts and the gun is below the crane's arm. And the armour is past the two toxic puddles a little forward. Don't worry about any enemies. There's like two geckos there. You can take them on with a bb gun if you like. Easy early game gun and armour. With those you can take on deathclaws easily.

Did anyone else not realise that the corner part where the drain is (where the Deathclaw emerges from) has 2 building that the DClaw can’t enter. So you’re safe to pistol it to death without moving an inch.

Wintern Lanterns from Bloodborne. They look terrifying (meatball with eyes, and sharp teeth - come on!), they sing haunting tune that you hear long before you see them, and they inflict 'frenzy' status, which drain health like crazy. Absolute terror.

I went against a Death Claw with nothing but a knife and no stimpacks on a dare but my friend didn’t know I had maxed out both melee and all health/DR options and I won fifty bucks.

In the Resident Evil Remake, it's the spiders, hunters, and chimairas. Now the spiders aren't that threatening just creapy, hard to look at, and a bit of a nusence. But the hunters and chimairas, they're a much bigger threat.

Professor Genki in sants row 3 was always scary, he's super rare but can kill you almost instantly and will chase you relentlessly. A man with a giant cat head who can run as fast as a car is pretty terrifying.

The Working Joes and the other survivors from Alien: Isolation. I don't know which is worse, those damn androids that can detect you easily or those other aholes that shoot you on sight. Trying to avoid either one, while being stalked by H.R. Geiger's Nightmare inducing creation is really frustrating.

I first met a Deathclaw waaaay back in Fallout 1 on pc and learned from then on they weren't to be trifled with. In F4 you can take them down with a pool cue, as ably demonstrated by the King of Sweden, Robbaz.

I agree. I don't like what I've seen, so I won't get it. And I'm not going to waste time hating on it either. Why bother? If it's not a sucessful game they are unlikely to make more along those lines. And having said that, all the other fallout games are hugely successful....so if this isn't.......

The infected shark fish thing from resident evil 4 the only thing you got is a couple balloons and he knocks you out of your boat and every time he knocks you out you have to swim faster and faster or it legitimately eats you and on top of that he charges at you and the only way to tell where it is a rope AND you barely get anything for it YYEEAAHH

You can also transfer the sacrificial blade to upgrade a machete. I did mine that gave 50 points freezing damage. Then combined the two at my weapons bench. S blade gives 3 poison damage with the freeze as well. Make sure your character has high melee skill. But it shouldn't matter too much!

The Cazadors in Fallout New Vegas. There not as powerful as Deathclaws but since they usually attack in swarms any encounter with them can be far more horrifying even at high levels.

Yeah, sometimes you gotta pay them bills. It's kind of funny going through "Influencers" let's plays and seeing them hesitate and try to pretend glitches aren't happening or joking about them in an off-hand manner.

@@cathyw8578 They work for Playstation (Whilst not actually being part OF Playstation, not sure but I'd guess We Are Reach are contracted workers) and thus anything they say could be intrepretted as Playstation's opinion by lawyers. Thus you won't ever see them be outright negative about any game/company as that could risk legal action against Playstation itself, PLUS they're acting as brand ambassadors and will only ever make content that praises any and all products available on Playstation. The closest you'll get to them expressing a negative opinion is simply not mentioning something, which with something as big as F076 they simply don't have the option of. They make great, entertaining videos sure. For honest, nuanced opinions i'd look elsewhere.

Is it just me or are the Ghouls in Fallout 4 onwards are utter nightmare fuel? I mean they are just as strong as they once were, if not a little bit more, but no longer cartoony-horrible. Now realistic-horrible, reminds me of Barefoot Gen and the like. Death in-laws are just dangerous-scary. Also Death in-laws is too good an autocorrect to correct...

I absolutely hate the death head radscorpions. They instant travel underground right next to you, they have poison damage and they are rarely alone. They also popup one every side at the same time.

The Greater Mistral from Dragon Age:Inquisition. For me it was probably the hardest Dragon fight in the game and it took an hour to finally take it down. It was a really hard battle.
