This restoration/customizing stuff is awesome man. Dude I swear, every time I work on a bike of mine and start painting something I've removed it gives me the same satisfied feeling that I used to feel so often composing music & producing. It's so great breaking everything apart and having your way with it as an artist and then once it's done you can stand back....look and listen to the creation like, "Yeah I did That!" ....idk

I personally take the screws out before painting. I do not like the looks of screws painted to the parts and also if you have to take them out ever in the future you ruin the whole paint! Same goes for all the places the parts join. I either paint them seperately or mask the joining line off. Only exeption is the cylinder head.

I hope to see an in depth tuning video when you get to that point. I tried diligently to run pods on my 78 cb750 and no matter what jets I tried it would not tune. Finally went back to the stock air box and she runs like a dream!! Looking awesome so far. Can’t wait for the next installment. 🤘🏻

Only problem I see not painting parts separately is that when you take them off, covers, cylinder heads, etc. It'll mess up the finish when the seam is broken. Maybe not. I'd like to do a black base, with red accents.

What paint did u use to prime and paint it
@calysagora36153 ай бұрын
The primer he used is VHT engine enamel primer. Then he uses some kind of generic black heat-resistant paint, which seems wrong to me. The correct thing is to use 3-4 layers of the VHT engine enamel paint and then use VHT engine enamel clear coat. All of them heat persistent, but looks A LOT better than generic heat paint. Look up VHT engine enamel paints. They are the bench-mark for good engine paints that looks awesome.

He first used VHT engine enamel primer. The right thing to do it to continue with VHT engine enamel paint (black in this case), and then CHT engine enamel clear coat. I think he just used some generic black heat paint though, and it does not look as good as the enamel paints.
