Love it and yes I love to drive my Niro in sport mode which also charge my hybrid electric battery as well on motorway so take less petroleum and run more fast & I enjoy both which I notice wile I m going from london to Zurich all the way just £70 petroleum and going in hybrid & EV mode

this is helpful, because ive noticed the engine turning on more frequently, but i am doing alot more heating now in the winter so that makes sense

You may also find that in colder conditions the ICE motor will start, even in EV mode, if the system thinks it is too cold. Cold Air going through the radiator, with no water circulating, runs the risk of coolant freezing and 'heaving' the thin plates in the rad. I found this happening at 4 degrees C or below, on our old 2012 PHEV Prius.

Thanks for the info. Vermont has only had a couple below freezing mornings so far

Good information, I notice this as well in my 2024 PHEV Niro, engine running briefly in E mode. I didn't know about the other motor/generator and also the importance of the proper cooling fluid for the system. I understand there is also cooling fluid used for the battery as well, is it the same reservoir ? I also wonder if the fluid might be used to transfer heat to the battery to optimism absorption efficiency or provide protection for charging the battery in sub-freezing conditions when I understand the batteries can suffer if charged at a low temperature. Thanks for these short videos about the cars function. I'm having difficulty understanding the Forward Collision Warning/Active system because there doesn't appear to be any way to verify if it on. I don't see any indication on the instrument LCD if its on but when its not on the I see a small warning (two cars colliding) on the lower left side of the instrument panel. I'd be curious if you or any of your followers have any other information on the collision avoidance systems. Thanks, having current model specific information is very helpful !

Excellent comment, thanks. I do believe the high voltage cooling system is shared between the batter pack and the front HV systems (on board charger, HCU, Electric Motor, AC compressor and the Hybrid Starter generator. I know there is waste heat from the 80hp electric motor that runs to a 'chiller' before getting to the battery pack. I have a 3600 pg repair manual and will hunt for an exact answer as to how the battery back is kept warm and report back with a video. I am also curious as to how an ice cold gas engine will hand be flipped 'on' at highway speeds (without a crankcase heater)? I'll get these systems figured out. As for the collision warning...thanks for this comment, I found the button to turn this driving assistance feature on and off, hopefully it is the same on the 2024 model, it should be under -SETUP -VEHICLE -DRIVING ASSISTANCE- FORWARD SAFTY. I am publishing a video now :)
