The connectors and display may have been better protected somehow. For example in a recess that makes it unlikely to bump into something. Possibly even with an additional lid or so. Such heavy powerpack makes it easy to destroy such filigree exterior.

Does the battery have any alarms for off gassing or thermal runaway?

The BMS has thermal protection, it shuts down the battery long before it over temp.

The 24v has a 4.9 rating. I saw the 1 rating for the 12v. There is only one rating and its bad but I haven't had any issues. The support has been quick to respond (via email). I had an issue with delivery and repower hunted down the problem with the shipping company. When the item never came they quickly sent a replacement.
