This was in the same tradition as Benny Hill and the Carry on movies. All 3 'Buses' movies were box office hits, and survive as regular and popular TV films. Even now, in some places, bus inspectors are known as 'Blakey's'. 'Buses' was good, clean un-PC humour - you know, the kind that made people LAUGH!!!!

The blocks of flats at the start of the film feature quite a lot in late eighties series of Grange Hill as the BBC used part of Elstree Studios.

Excellent stuff, never get bored with this! Not many people realise that Stephen Lewis (Blakey) is actually 20 years younger than Reg Varney (Butler) in real life. He was made to look a lot older in this.

How anyone can hate this show is beyond me. Yes it's outdated & full of things TV shows just couldn't get away with now, but people loved it for what it was; we didn't take things seriously then. Political Correctness has gone mad, & so has society in general, inc peoples attitudes. Wish I could hop on a bus today & see happy smiley drivers; drivers today always look miserable. I think everyone in general, despite financial hard times, were happier back then than we are now.

I just noticed that they used the same locations on this, as they did on the other film, but doing different things. Like for instance, the puddle Blakey gets splashed by. In the other film he gets splashed by the bus. In this one he realises he's going to get splashed by the bus, moves away, but gets splashed by the car instead.
