Never really commented on your channel before but I just wanted to say you’ve been the biggest help, used to get 2/3s in English lit and Lang at the start of yr10, by the time my year 10 mocks came around, I was getting solid 7 in language and 8 in lit (because of your videos). I am a parent, helping my ASD daughter with her English Revision. Thank you so much for making it easier to help her. Please could I request that you do some videos for kids that are just looking for a grade 4, for kids with special needs? Maybe in time for the Nov re-sits, but some time before and not just the days just before. I would love to see, what does a grade 4 answer look like, a slower video pace, big vocab - but grade 4 ability, rather than grade 9 etc.. Your videos are amazing but too complicated for my daughter. I watch your videos and then explain it to her and she loves PRTEZEL. She knows her writing is better even though we only found you around a week ago 🙂. Fingers crossed my daughter gets a grade 3 (or 4 if possible).

Even if your daughter uses some of this stuff in her actual exam and follows the structure this guy has given us, she can easily clear a grade 3. Some advice would be that if you just want a grade 4 for your daughter- tell her to prioritse the section she is most confident with, whether that's Section A or the creative part (Section B). If she does decent in either one of those sections then it can make up for her mistakes in the other section.

you should help her learn basic language features (adjective, similes, personification, symbolism, alliteration, foreshadowing etc) and structural features (zoom in, zoom out, short sentences: hurried pace, under detailed makes it seem tense, long sentences: builds up tension, creates more suspense as its more descriptive) also try and read books or anything and try to pick these out! they are also marked on SPAG so try and practice that and tell her its quality over quantity, best of luck to her x

I got a high grade 5, 2 marks away from a 6. I was so confident in maths and ended up getting a grade 3, 3 marks away from a grade 4 (pass). And once I found out I failed maths I thought that I definitely failed English. But thanks to my teachers,Mr Bruff and You I managed to get a high grade 5 whilst being a set 4 student! for paper 1 (write a story about meeting a animal) i accidentally only wrote one line about the animal which was at the end.
