Love your channel. I am also a medical interpreter with 10 years of experience. Just would like to add when interpreting the medical term "delivery", yes it is correct and acceptable " parto, alumbramiento". Existe otro muy usado equivalente a " parto" (dar a luz). Mi esposa acaba de dar a luz! That would be " my spouse or wife just gave birth" or "My wife just delivered".

Love the video!!! I just wanted to point out a mistake on 26:19 you said “STD, Sexual Transmitted Disease” and Rosa said “Enfermedad de Transmisión Sexual o Infección de Transmisión Sexual.” Wanted to clear out that Infection ≠ Disease. Infección de Transmisión Sexual tiene su propio término “STI, Sexual Transmitted Infection.” I know that Spanish if very broad from different countries and I learned a few new words here that I don’t use, culturally, where I’m from. Thank you!

Yes, she is Latina, and her accent is very pleased for Latino people. Seams Latin speaker struggle understanding America speakers or people who speak English and aren't coming from Latino backgrounds. Here in Argentina, for "blood test", we would use the term "analisis de sangre". Thats the first time I heard "prueba de sangre".

Dear Rosa also in English in the hospital when you get your paperwork to discharge in my case I had a miscarriage and it says spontaneous abortion so needless to say my fiance didn't speak English and he thought I had an abortion which I didn't because he didn't understand the terminology but they do also use spontaneous abortion in English to describe a miscarriage

The word 'anagraphic' is not well used in this context. It has a very different meaning. Very good Rosa as in figuring out what the other speaker meant was demographics!

In November last year I got a certification in Medical Interpreter, My name is Mia original from Brasil, so I can do an interpretation in portuguese & spanish to english, but I have a full time job at home and would like to do this as part time job. The only interpretation I did so far was @ the Emigration Department, I interpret Portuguese to English. I did a few freelance interpretations for several jobs, once for a lady I know, she was in ER and she trusted only me, so I interpret spanish to english to the doctor in that particular hospital. I'm interested to retake this curse just as an re-enforcer😊

Haha. There are many Spanish channels:) Where you can listen only Spanish language. But however this is just word's from one language to another, and your opinion is respected and really funny!!! Do you know when I used to give language classes to lazy students who expected you to put a language in their head without making any efforts, would use similar phrases:) Nothing good is easy or perfect. Hi! Nini! I think that the best certification is CCHI (talking about getting a job after). The legal national interpreting test is the second credential I will advise for the Spanish language. No one is allowed to divulge information about the written or oral exam (its forbidden by law). But as far as I know the English part of the test is always medically related on form of test or free text, just be ready for all medical terminology and stuff.
