What food can you buy for the equivalent of $15USD in your country? Can you relate to something in this story?

Hi,Tanya! Thanks to your videos,I can learn English enjoyably! In Japan, we can buy 5 tomatoes for $15USD. Is it expensive??
@kledsonenglish2 жыл бұрын
In Brazil, you can buy a little over 2 pounds of a juicy cut of meat. Or 4 pounds of filet o chicken. Alternatively, you could throw 2 pounds of giant garlic clover into your shopping cart.

I don't buy a processed food. As the saying goes, cut more, unwrap less.

Good Morning Teacher Tanya, thank you for sharing this topic. In Italy increase too the prices of the food in the grossery shop. I discoverd, or noticed, many foods are made in Italy, such as Tomatoe Pomì and Penne Barilla. I am curious tastering the oil extra virgin from California. The prices whit you have mentionate are few hight from the Italian prices. Many those foods I don't buy, are little healty. In this video I have lern many new word. Thank you. Sebastiano

Sebastiano, thank you for your comment. Yes, I notices the tomato products were from Italy. Many of these foods are not things I normally buy, but they came in this food box. I kind of like it because I get to try new things!

This is such an excellent topic Tanya! I love watching shopping hauls - always curious to see what people buy so really great for an English lesson and to show real cuture and life in the US. I am inspired to do a similar video showing my food shopping prices in Belgium and later in France as I move there in a few weeks. Would that be ok? I will of course mention your video as the inspiration :)

Hi Tanya! Thanks for sharing this fun video with us! I enjoy watching your real English stories. ^^ If you don't mind, I have two extra questions. 1. I'm wondering if "they are on their last legs" works just as well. I noticed that you used the singular form of "leg," but I feel that the plural makes more sense to me since it seems to agree with the plural pronoun "they." 2. Another question is that I'm curious about the differences between "can you relate to it" and "can you identify with it." Thank you for reading my comments and questions. I really appreciate your time! ❤
@EnglishCoach3Ts2 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can use it singularly or plurally. That said, you can say that something plural is on it's last leg as a group. Does that make sense? Thank you for your comment.

Mam, I live in India. Here, the price of everything is increasing day by day. So we are worried about it. Uneplpoyment is increasing here. I have no idea about USA. Is there any unemployment problem in your country. I want to know it. What does unemployed person do in your locality ? Do all of you do work ? How does a person in your locality react when he has no work. Do not take it otherwise. I am very much qurious about the life style of USA.
