Good evening sir, Today's motivational quote is from my side “Nobody is born successful. You need to start from somewhere to reach up to that level.” Editorial is concerning to the recent meeting of GST Council. Summary: - The GST council meeting, which was held last week could not fulfill the expectations of states as they wanted to add some more items under GST but the council ignored these issues however, the Finance Minister even clearly said these would be looked into in ensuing days. However, the representative of states’ and the Central Government fought for small concerns i.e. GST should be marked on COVID items that import from other countries. It clearly shows the failure of the council and has created many concerns for both governments. The FM has directed the Group of Minister to look into the concern of states’ and submit its report by 1st week of June whereby appropriate action can be taken on time. Opposition states’ have claimed that the representative of NDA-ruled States have helped the Central Government to suppress the main issues due to which the bigger issues were remained unresolved. The constitution of the country, gives right to the council to recommend special rates at the time of disaster but it did not act smoothly. Given the losses, some states called for granting permission to impose their own cess to recover the loss revenues. However, such states move may derail the country’s economy so the Central Government has onus to arrange the revenues, which promised at the time of implementation of the GST. In my notion:- There can be no denying that the Central Government had promised the states to provide revenue for next five year since implementation of the GST but somewhere it seems that it has been unable to stand with its promise due to which states have been facing lots of problems. Currently, the states have little option to collect revenue as most of levies come under the GST. One side where the virus has destroyed the mechanism of all the states, such moves of the Centre may worse the relationship of both governments in incoming days. This is the time to work together and bring lucrative ideas whereby maximum people can be saved from the impact of the virus. Besides, the situation across the country is critical so be it for the states or the central government, both should try to handle the pandemic crisis, aiming public welfare instead of political benefit. Apart from this, the Central Government should work fairly while allotting fund to the states as sometimes it is seen that the ruling government pays more attention on their ruling states than others. Good evening sir charansprsh. The GST Council which met last Friday could not live up to the meaningful relief from the second wave. It discloses insipid relief be it common men expectation and cross finger they will get vaccination, hospital bed, and no relief to businesses turn over 5 cr affected by the lockdown. Ms. Sitaraman offers to wave the small and marginal GST payment and unchanged the policy for businesses. Little relief to the state. The States are grappling with the crunch of money to provide essential supply during a pandemic. The opposition States alleged that the state ruled by bjp loudly supporting to not to wave the Gst on essential supply be it oxygen, vaccination. and remains unchanged but few states like Sikkim demanding Gst due and supported by another state Andra Pradesh Tamil Nadu. And some state want to contain the Gst after the fiver year because state scramble to maintain revenue. Ms. Sitaraman lifted the gst over vaccine, oxygen import, and distribution to states. . here the central government amid the pandemic could do with intellectual and ideological cooperation with state. Loom -- hovering Room -- freedom Precarious -- dangerous, perilous Could do with -- need Flak -- criticism Edifice -- large impressive building/ A system which has been in force for large time Subsuming -- involving Virtually -- almost Cope with -- harmonious Paralysis meeting/ conference Acrimony -- bitterness Fray -- tense, irritate Fray ( n). Schism -- rift Wait for -- await Vociferously -- loudly Viewpoint -- stand Pressing -- urge, request , call off Maven -- expert Live up to -- fulfill Unveiled disclose Keeping finger crossed -- strong hope Insipid -- dull, boring Scramble -- a harried attempt get something Amnesty -- forgiveness Underwhelmed -- disappointed To the effect -- regarding Swatting worry about minor things. Thank you sir jai hind jai Bharat 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
