Gracias !!! James, could you explain these examples also? not yet, ,now ,here, there etc. and sometimes I sleep sometimes not.
I hope one day I will have an opportunity to work with you! PS Who should we put the article AN before the word opportunity if the very noun here is uncountable? Why do we have to put articles before uncountable articles?
@kathymichael72244 жыл бұрын
AN is used before singular nouns that begin with a vowel. For instance we say "an egg" -- "I do not have an egg." But we say "a book"-- "I read a book" because "book" starts with a consonant.

There is no program today in the hall. (note spelling of the word "program" in English) There will be no program today in the hall. There is not a program today in the hall. There will not be a program today in the hall.

well, it depends if you're trying to say that there's nothing to worry or if you're trying to relax someone so when you're trying to tell someone that there's nothing to worry about, you can say "no worry, man, no problem" and if you're trying to relax someone is like "I'm fine, dad, don't worry about me" well, I hope that helped you

Are we allowed to say "he didn't have a reason for being late"? Is it incorrect, or does it just have the same meaning?
@tommytruth75957 жыл бұрын
Same meaning.
@kathymichael72244 жыл бұрын
The tense is different. "He has no reason for being late" is present tense." He didn't/did not have a reason for being late" is past tense. Both are correct for different times.

@dianamdogtz10 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that in your "When not to use "no" with any, many, much, or enough", the example to explain "no" with enough is incorrect. You used "I do not have enough money" "I do no have enough money", but that is actually not showing when not to use no with enough, but when not to use no with a verb. I would say a correct example is "It is not enough" "It is no enough". Otherwise, if you use the -I do not have enough money- you're only explaining when to use no or not with a verb. Please tell me if what I'm saying is incorrect, I would like to know.

What about starting a sentence with a No/Not. for example: "No mastering something today does not mean that I will not be able to do it one day soon" I believe the correct one is "No", am I right?
@cherusiderea13305 жыл бұрын
No, the correct form would be "not" because you are negating the verb which would be "mastering", the present/progressive participle of "to master". Remember that he said the only word that can negate a verb is "not".

Teacher, please explain how to use No and NOT at the end of question senctences. For example, Will we go the party or NO/NOT? Or, Do you like a cake or NO/NOT? How to understand what should be there. Thank you!
@kathymichael72244 жыл бұрын
NOT. Unless you ask the person to answer using 'yes' or 'no' but the correct way to ask or state is if the person will go or not. Understood is "will go / will not go; not "will no go."

@paulinecrawford68768 жыл бұрын

I have a T-shirt written on it ( I am NO angel) should I go to the company and tell them you don't know how to use No & NOt? u should've written ( I am NOT an angel) .
@rodrigojose9154 жыл бұрын
Both of the sentences are correct. *I am no angel* and *I am not an angel* When we use *no* in a sentence like the one you mentioned: *I am no angel* it means that we want to emphasize what we're saying. So, in that case *I am no angel* I want to say that in no way I'm an angel, there's no how for me to be an angel, I don't want to be or I don't want to accept that fact. In this case is used when something is a fact. If someone come to you and state you're an angel (because it's a fact) you use *NO* to simply not accept this fact. Usually is used like this. Hope it helped. (Of course nobody is no angel. When I said *It's a fact* I just used the sentence *I'm no angel* as an example to explain the use of *NO.*
