While well known for the raucous sound of elephant seals, Año Nuevo State Park also has areas of tranquility among the 4,209 acres. This spot overlooks the Año Nuevo Bay back towards the California coastal hills and California State Route 1.
Abundant wildlife calls the area home and many birds species can be seen and heard while walking along the well marked trails.
In this view cormorants can be seen resting on the rocks while seagulls and brown pelicans cruise by on the sea breeze. Bees float among the wild flowers in the foreground.
