Nice of him to come up with this initiative. I can remember fondly last time when hawker food prices were around $1.50 - 2.00. During the weekend evenings, hawker centres were always fully packed with diners and crowds. Those days represented Singapore's golden era in the 80s.

Dom's CKT is probably one of the best in SG. That time he was also cooking Chai Tao Kuay in my former Bedok south Neighbourhood. These 2 are dishes I still endorse, especially if the dishes are still done by Dom personally!

I would bring my children to experience what i went thru when I was a kid. It was tough for my parents to bring up 6 kids with their little income. But we were happy cos we went thru the hardship together. Would really like to see the expression of my kid's face carrying an egg to the stall.

Cooked traditionally in pork fat and including crisp cubes of pork fat, it's great. Done in indigestible industrially processed refined grain, legume or seed oils, not so much because all that's tasted is the salt.

Why do people queue so long just to save a few dollars? Isn't their time worth more than the money they save?

Because the food also tastes good.
@Ccb888884 жыл бұрын
KONG KAH HON Median Singapore monthly salary is SGD4563, which works out as roughly SGD 28 per hr, assuming a 40 hr work week and 4 weeks holiday per year. Is queuing for food for 30 mins / or even a freebie really worth your time?
@인형바보4 жыл бұрын
@@Ccb88888 Well, if your only value in life is money then, yeah you do you son. Either way consider these, assuming a 40 hr work week and 4 weeks holiday per year, people could be queueing up in their free time that is outside those time where they get paid SGD 28 per hr. Also, in this case you are also assuming that people goes there to save a few dollars, which might not be the case, some people just wanna try the food, some people want to feel nostalgic, some people want to have the experience. Point is, there are other sentimental value that other people may value more than a materialistic value that you value so much. Heck if you are that rich you where every 'single' hour of your life is worth more than 28 dollars, you wouldn't care losing some dollars to feel nostalgic, would you?
